In the hallway of the police station, Chloe sat down on a bench after an interrogation.

Ashley was being interrogated while Soren hadn't come out of the chief's office.

In a short while, Chloe heard Ashley's loud voice coming from the room across from her. "I tell you what, I'm pregnant with your seed. Come to the police station and bail me out now, or there will be consequences!" She shouted over the phone.

Chloe couldn't help but frown.

She was not sure whose seed Ashley was carrying. Probably, the man was a regular customer of their store. Chloe imagined the awkward scene when the customer showed up later.

A few minutes later, someone trotted into the hallway.

Chloe raised her eyes and froze there!

The comer was none other than Esteban who strongly objected to a breakup.

Esteban was also stunned to see Chloe.

Just then, Ashley came out of the door and held onto his arm before saying joyfully, "I knew it. You wouldn't abandon our baby and me!"

Chloe looked at Ashley's hand on Esteban's arm and slowly got up. Her eyes were filled with surprise, "You..."

Not in her wildest dreams had she expected Ashley to be pregnant with Esteban's child! This was ironic.

At the hospital, the doctor said that Ashley had been pregnant for a month and a half. Back then, Esteban and she hadn't fallen out, which meant he cheated on her.

Chloe regarded herself as a damn fool. No wonder Esteban often came to the store and picked her up. Turned out she was not the sole reason.

Ashley detected shock in Chloe's eyes, smiled charmingly, and raised her chin, "Chloe, you stole my position, and I stole your man. We're even!"

Chloe glanced at Esteban who looked uneasy. Her blood was boiling and her chin lifted, "Ashley, listen, I indeed stole your position, but this man was dumped by me!"

Ashley was angered to no end while Esteban snarled fiercely, "Chloe, don't go too far!"

"Shameless adulterers, you should wear scarlet letters!" Chloe sneered.

"Are you a man or not? Teach her a lesson, will you?" Ashley pushed him.

Esteban flared up, stepped forward, and raised his hand, "Bitch, you asked for this!"

Undaunted, Chloe stared at her ex-boyfriend coldly.

Just then, a deep, stern voice suddenly came from the other end of the passage.

"Mr. Whitefield, someone is doing violence at the police station. I wonder how you will handle it."

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Chloe looked back and saw Soren standing there with a middle-aged man in a police uniform.

Mr. Whitefield's face turned cold, and he shouted, "Guards!"

In no time, eight policemen came up.

"The admonitions for them were not good enough. At the police station, they made a scene and attempted to commit violence. They should be re-educated and released until they realize their mistakes!" Mr. Whitefield said in an authoritative tone.

"Yes, sir." Those policemen responded in union and raised the roof.

At that moment, Esteban was shriveled by the presence of his boss alone.

Ashley and he were taken away to receive further admonitions.

For a moment, Chloe felt weak and walked towards the exit in dismay.

Her unscrupulous ex-boyfriend really disgusted her. She was so blind to take a liking to such a man!

Soren glanced at the feeble woman, turned back to the police chief, and smiled, "Mr. Whitefield, I'll invite you to have a cup of tea another day."

"Busy bee, I'll have to wait a long time for my tea." Mr. Whitefield teased.

"Duty calls, see you around." Soren bade goodbye and trotted to follow Chloe.
