Chapter 19 Do I Look Good?

The satin dress in champagne color outlined the woman's curvy figure, and the tube top perfectly set off her delicate collarbones and fair, smooth complexion.

The fishtail-shaped dress hem was tight up from the knees but loose underneath.

As the woman walked, the long hem swayed like flowing waves.

"Do I look good?" Bree spun gracefully in front of Leo.

"You look great." The man's eyes flashed with amazement.

The woman was pretty in Leo's eyes. Still, he did not expect her to become so radiant after dressing up.

Not only Bree's appearance changed, but also her temperament.

At ordinary times, she was agile, cunning, and youthful.

At present, she was graceful, elegant, and mature.

Two distinctly different temperaments perfectly blended in the woman and changed along with the occasions.

As the dinner began, Bree stood beside Leo with a composed posture.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to introduce Leo Lewis, my son, to you all. He has just returned from overseas and will soon take over Phoenix Apparel owned by the Lewis Group." Hervey addressed the attendees with a smile.

It had been ten years since Leo left the country at the age of seventeen.

Many of the promising young businessmen at the party even did not know that Hervey had another son besides Oliver.

But those experienced businessmen in S City knew about Leo.

They also knew how Hervey took over the Corbyn Family's business and changed the Corbyn Group's name to the Lewis Group.

But so what?

The past was the past.

The Corbyn Family was gone.

Upon hearing that Leo returned to the country and would soon take over Phoenix Apparel, those who knew the inside story could not help fixing their eyes on Leo with interest.

As planned, Leo and Bree performed the opening dance.

The couple danced in perfect harmony to the soothing music.

Hilda, who was waiting for Bree to make a fool of herself, could barely keep her smile on her face when she saw Bree's gorgeous dance steps.

Bree winked at Leo and motioned for him to look at Hilda's expression.

Noticing Hilda's somewhat twisted smile, Leo recalled those words Bree told him the other day.

She said, "I've seen that kind of woman a lot."

At this moment, Leo believed that what she said was true.

Hilda came from a humble background but managed to marry into the Lewis Family soon after Leo's mother's death, and she had stayed in position for more than a decade. Presumably, she should be a calculating and crafty woman.

Even so, Bree somehow got the better of her.

A thoughtful look appeared in Leo's eyes while he was lost in thoughts.

Perhaps, Bree's identity was not simple.

Staring at the radiant woman on the dance floor, Oliver flashed a confident smile and then tilted his head to drain his glass of wine.

As the song ended, Hervey began introducing Leo to his significant business partners while Bree stayed with Hilda.

"Bree, if you didn't like the dresses I've prepared for you, you should just tell me. Why did you tell me that you like them and prepare another one on the other hand?"

Hilda faked a smile at Bree's generous, decent dress.

After several failed attempts, Hilda eventually could not hold back her temper as Hervey introduced Leo to those guests.

Bree looked at Hilda in surprise as if she did not understand why Hilda was saying so.

"Hilda, you must have misunderstood me. I prepared an extra dress only because I was afraid that something might go wrong. And look, it did come in handy."

Hilda's expression changed subtly. After casting an intent glance at Bree, she suddenly let out a meaningful sneer.

"Bree, I underestimated you."

Bree curled up her lips into a vague smile while staring at Hilda's departing back.
