Chapter 14 The Black Bank Card
Naturally, Bree and Patrice parted on bad terms.
After lunch, Bree attended two more interviews. When she got back home, it was five something in the afternoon.
Leo was attracted downstairs by the fragrance of dinner.
As he came to the dining room, he immediately noticed a bouquet of red roses on the table.
"Have you finished your work?" Bree put the dishes on the table, saying, "Go wash your hands. We may get dinner started in a short while."
Leo followed the woman's instruction. Meanwhile, Bree took out a glass vase, trimmed the roses, inserted them into the container, and sprayed some water upon them.
The mist of water fell on the fiery red petals, forming dewdrops that made the roses look even more beautiful.
"Don't they look pretty?" Bree showed Leo her work with satisfaction.
Leo paused and then looked at Bree with a calm expression on his face. "Are you suggesting that I should send you flowers?"
Bree froze and then giggled.
"No, the vibe in the house is too dull for me, so I'm just trying to adjust it with a bunch of flowers." Bree withdrew her smile, continuing, "Of course, I won't mind if you send me flowers in the future."
Speaking of which, Bree suddenly felt it necessary to buy more flowers to decorate the rooms.
Although Leo's simply decorated apartment looked nice, it somehow lacked the flavor of life.
To put it simply, it was a house but not a home.
She did not care how it used to be, but now that it was her home, she should at least make it cozy and pleasing.
There were initially several leafy plants, which had no flowers growing, in the house, but Bree was not satisfied with them.
Leo had no idea what Bree was thinking and did not want to dwell on the subject of flowers, so he changed the topic.
"Have you found a job yet?"
"Not yet." Bree shrugged her shoulders. Suddenly, she thought of something and came up with a question, "How long do you think it will take me to earn a million yuan if I get a job?"
"That depends on what kind of work you do and your own strength. Some people can earn a million easily, while others may not be able to earn a million in their lifetime."
At this moment, Leo cast a glance at Bree, asking, "Why? Are you short of money?"
"Is there anyone who isn't?" Bree blinked and then let out a long sigh. "I actually turned down a one-million check today! My heart hurts when I think about it!"
Leo turned to stare at Bree. Just as the woman could not take the gaze any longer, the man suddenly got up and went upstairs.
What was going on?
Was he angry?
Bree was bewildered.
After a short while, Leo came downstairs and pushed a beautifully crafted black titanium card before Bree.
It was a black credit card.
It was known in the industry as the "King of Bank Cards."
It was said that owning this kind of card was robust proof of its owner's noble status.
The information about this card suddenly appeared in Bree's mind, leaving her stunned for a moment.
Bree stared at the card but did not pick it up. Leo then shoved it into her hand, saying, "Purchase whatever you like with it."
The words reached Bree's ears, giving off a dominant vibe.
Bree played the thin card in her hand and asked curiously, "Aren't you afraid that I'll bankrupt you?"
"You can give it a try." Leo glanced at her and continued eating.
Bree felt herself being underestimated by the man.
Her chest somehow felt itchy and tight. She enjoyed it, actually.
The smile on her lips was overwhelming, but she did not even notice.
