Chapter 21 Christine Was Outside
Christine was in a white dress with a black belt on her waist. She was elegant in that suit.
She raised her head and saw Franklin was walking toward her in a white shirt and ironed trousers.
He stooped slightly with a dark striped tie on his hand, "Do you know how to wear a tie?"
"No..." she was a little awkward.
She had been spoiled before as a daughter of the Stocks. All her needs would be satisfied if she could name it. And they would let her do anything she wanted.
Later, someone from Brooks forced her to study and learn in the best university of City H.
Franklin was not upset about that. Instead, he was pleased. And then he held her wrist and led her hand.
In Christine's eye, Franklin was looking down, guiding her with his attractive voice with his hand on hers, "Put the tie on the neck first, overlap it, and put it with the button..."
His male hormones, mixed with slight mint fragrance, surrounded her.
Her ears were buzzing, and she could not hear his words at all. The only thing she noticed was his handsome face in front of her.
"Do you remember it?"
Then they finished a perfect tie. She was blushing and her fingers were having a fever. She raised her head and saw his smiling eyes.
"...I am not good at it because it was the first time...and it would be better if I practice several times."
Franklin could not help smiling and he was satisfied with her blushing face, "Great! However, considering your "intelligence", I believe that Mrs. Brook needs to practice it all your life and I will wear a tie every day in the future. ""
Christine's brain went blank and she didn't say a word before Franklin suddenly kissed her with one hand on her chin.
Seeing he was wearing his suit, Christine realized that something was wrong, "I am a college student of city H, don't look me down!"
"All right, all right! You are a college student of city H and you are smart." Franklin put on his watch and could not help smiling.
Christine was angry at his perfunctory answer, "I am smart! If... I would study abroad now."
It was true that she wanted to study abroad so that she could escape from marrying Franklin. And Christine didn't know what happened to the Stocks the day before she would go abroad. They forced her to marry Franklin in advance.
"Yes, can clever Mrs. Brook go downstairs with one foot?" he squinted to tease her and petted her head as if he was fondling an angry cat.
Due to her injury, Franklin carried her in his arms to the dining table downstairs.
Mrs. Miller had prepared food for them. Yet the food for them was different.
Christine looked eagerly at the meat bun on his plate because she only had a bowl of congee. She tried to steal his meat bun several times, but she failed. She pursed her mouth until Franklin put her in a pair of flat black shoes and put her into the car.
"Are you angry?"
And the angry Christine was drawing graffiti on the window.
"Should I open the window and let you put your head out?" Franklin seemed to look through her and said casually. "The doctor said you can't eat else until your cold is gone because of your stomach problem. And I don't mind sending you home if you keep doing that."
Christine hissed and didn't answer him.
But she murmured, "How mean the wealthiest man in City H is! He won't let his wife eat meat."
It was quiet in the car and Franklin had good listening. He got her words clearly, "Am I the man who makes you have a cold and have stomach problems?"
"Well?"
She fondled her stomach and got the answer for her occasional stomachache.
He remembered it was because that Gloria told her that Martin loved skinny beauty.
Christine had a plump face which was certainly not skinny. And Gloria made her stop eating to lose weight and locked her in the room for a month. The only thing Christine could eat was water and she almost starved to death.
And then she was in prison where she could not have enough food or warm clothes. And now Christine was eager to have food as she liked.
"I am not losing weight on purpose." All right, how could she explain this properly?
"Really?"
Franklin sneered at her words and gave birth to an evil thought and his lower abdomen was tightened when he looked at her sulk face.
For men, Christine was the embodiment of purity and charm, the Siren in the sea, who could easily stir up men's most primitive impulses.
Especially Franklin was 27 years old and he couldn't become an innocent boy anymore.
"What a poor excuse! I recommend that you should learn more about the law and study your minor courses." It was easy for Franklin to win her in terms of intelligence.
Christine knew that he graduated from Cambridge University with two doctor's degrees. She did not want to argue with him about that.
And the car stopped at the gate of M&R Group, which was the company of the Brooks.
Many reporters were blocking the road.
Christine saw Gloria was interviewed in decent clothes as if she were Mrs. Brook at once.
"Miss Stock, can you tell me if the news of yesterday has something to do with Mrs. Brook?"
"Miss Stock, according to our knowledge, it is the daughter of the Stocks who should marry Mr. Brook, why Christine married him?"
"According to our news, Christine almost killed Mr. Brook before their marriage. Is it true?"
"..."
Gloria smiled and that was what she wanted—Christine was belittled by the media.
She curved the corner of her mouth slightly, "Please be quiet. I can't speak on behave of Brooks. It wasn't my sister who would marry Mr. Brook, but..."
Before she finished her "but", someone in the crowd shouted.
"That's Mr. Brook's car, and Mrs. Brook seems to come as well!"
The reporters ran towards the car immediately and Gloria was pushed away by the crowd and her clothes and hair were in a mess.
She was almost mesmerized by that face when she saw Franklin form the window. And before she smiled, she saw Christine sit by his side and wear a smile.
Gloria's eyes opened wide and she clenched her fist, wondering why Christine was here.
It was a rule for the Stocks to announce their marriage and then hold a press conference.
Gloria wanted to appear in the media with Franklin so that people in City H would thin they were a couple. And she was sure that Christine would not come because of allergy and the gossip between Christine and Martin.
But Christine was outside!
And her face was fine?
Gloria cursed in her mind that Larissa should take her money while not giving the ointment to Christine.
Christine felt that many people were looking at her. Some of them were curious, jealous, or disdainful. And one of them looked at her with extreme hatred.
Two groups of bodyguards came out of the M&R and blocked the media for them. The man, dressed in an ironed black suit, stepped out of the car and went to the other side surrounded by bodyguards. He walked towards the other side under all the spotlights. He opened the door like a gentleman and protected Christine's head with his hand.
The media were stunned seeing Mr. Brook open the door for a woman.
