Chapter 20 Father and daughter

"You didn't lie to me?"

"You will know it when you go back with me to see with your own eyes."

Sophia struggled for a moment and said, "Okay then, I'll go see him."

In Fox's house.

When she stepped into the bedroom, a strong smell of traditional Chinese medicine hit her. Sophia frowned slightly and paced to the bed, only to see Wilson Fox lying there with a pale face. His eyes slightly closed. If not for his chest was still rising and falling slightly with his breathing, she would think he was dead.

Rosa gently beckoned him twice.

He opened his eyes, struggled to climb up, and said obliquely, "Sophia, you're back?"

"Yeah."

Sophia answered indifferently and said nothing else.

Wilson wanted to ask her how she was doing lately, but the words couldn't come out of his mouth. Ever since Dorothy's death, they hadn't had a good conversation. Now that they were sitting face to face, but they were like strangers.

After mumbling for a while, he said, "I'll ask your aunt to make more food for dinner at home."

"Well."

Sophia was still indifferent.

Rosa was anxious. Beforehand she agreed with Wilson to beg her properly when Sophia came back. How come when he saw her, he refused to say a word?

But no matter how anxious she was, she didn't dare to force Sophia.

Rosa said, "Sophia, sit down and have a good chat with your father. I'll go to the kitchen."

Only two people were left in the room, and Sophia suddenly felt a little more relieved. She found a chair and sat down, asking: "What's going on about the company's business?"

Wilson's eyes flickered, and there was even some wretchedness: "I worked with the Second Master Hunter and invested a sum of money for the development of a new project. As a result, he ran away with the money, and now those investors can't find him and put all the blame on me. I've already paid back some of the money, but Mr. Yonng insisted that I should pay ten times the principal and interest money. How can I get so much money for him! So he threatened to send me to jail if I don't pay back the money."

"You're talking about Sawyer Yonng?"

"Right."

"So, you're telling me all this because you want me to beg the Macadam Family?" With the friendship between the two families, begging the Macadam Family was indeed more effective than begging the Yonng family.

"....... "Wilson. couldn't raise his head in shame.

Sophia looked at him mockingly, "Dad, I remember what you used to say when you drove my mother away... You said that you could make a difference without the Macadam Family's support."

"Sophia, I'm sorry about your mother, I..."

Wilson had tears in his eyes.

"Shut up and don't mention my mother! You don't get to talk about her!" Sophia interrupted him with extreme impatience. A surge of blood raging in her chest, "I have no face. And I won't go begging for grandfather's family for you! But I'll talk to Sawyer. As for whether he'll agree or not with me, I can't guarantee it."

"Sophia, I'm grateful when you could do this for me. Thank you so much."

"How can I afford your thanks?"

Sophia sneered.

"Knock knock", the door was knocked a few times. Rosa poked her head in and said, "The meal is ready. Go out and eat."

Sophia glanced at her coldly, got up, and walked out, "No, I don't have the appetite."

"Sophia, you'd better stay home and eat. Your father has been looking forward to your return for days."

Rosa chased after Sophia and spoke.

"He's looking forward to me? Didn't he wish with all his heart that you would give him a son so he could inherit everything from the Fox Family? What am I to him?" Thinking of the past, Sophia was anguished. And before losing her temper, she clenched her hands and quickened her steps towards the door.

Rosa stared at her back, dissatisfaction flashing in her eyes.

Since ancient times the family business was inherited by the son. What was she a girl fighting for? She sill needed to get married sooner or later!

But no matter how dissatisfied she was in her heart, she could only hold this in her stomach because she needed Sophia to help them out now.

Rosa stood in place for a moment, snorted coldly, and turned around to go back to her bedroom.

When she left the Fox Family, Sophia strolled around aimlessly.

Passing by the theater at Wanda Plaza, she went in to watch two random movies.

When she came out, it was already five o'clock in the afternoon. And when she was thinking of where to have dinner, the phone in her pocket suddenly buzzed and vibrated. Seeing that it was a call from Tyrone, her brain exploded with a bang.

She was so confused by anger that she had forgotten that she had promised Tyrone that she would go to Sawyer's sister's birthday party!
