Chapter 25 - Jecinta
Two days later
Jecinta walked into the house feeling exhausted. She'd had a hectic day at the office. Franklin was not yet home as usual and she always preferred coming home earlier. She headed to the bedroom and decided to take a warm shower at least to ease up her body inorder for her to prepare dinner. Lately Jecinta had been thinking of Amal quite alot. She felt happy that Sham was not in good terms with Amal and she had thoughts of trying to get herself closer to Amal. The fact that Amal was rich and had lots of assets and to top it all he was handsome, intelligent and everything any woman can ever desire in a man. She started wishing that she was Sham, all she wanted was a chance to be with a responsible man not a good for nothing man like Franklin. Thoughts of her wedding Amal vibrated in her mind as the warm water dropped down her spine. She just smilled and hoped everything works as per how she wanted it to. She got out of the shower and put on a light silk dress, knee length and headed to the kitchen to make dinner. Shortly the door opened and as she piped Franklin walked in with his bag pack. "Jecinta!" He called out loud. Jecinta didn't bother answering because she knew as usual he was going to create chaos and this time she was ready for this. "I'm calling you and you are not answering, since when did you start disrespecting me?" He asked. Jecinta went on cooking and not minding him. "Did you get a job?" She asked finally noticing his presence. "No, I didn't." He said. "I have an issue I want us to discuss just finish cooking dinner then we will talk about it." He said walking back to the living room and heading straight to the bedroom. Jecinta knew what Franklin did all day long and he came back home lying that he was looking for a job. She felt stupid having accepted Franklin to be her husband at the first place and what hurt her the most is the fact that all the money she gave Franklin it went to another woman. He was cheating on him with an unknown woman and thought that she didn't know it.
Dinner was ready and the two sat on the table to take it. After prayers they both started eating. "What is it you wanted us to discuss." She asked looking at him. He smiled, and that was wierd. "I want us to finally have a baby." He said smiling. She remained silent and wondered whether Franklin was in his right state of mind or he was just lost. "Say something love."
"We agreed to spend 5 years without a child and I had to take a family planning injection for five years and we have stayed for only three years Frank you want a child now..." She took a sip of water and went on. " You don't have a job now, what will we feed the child with huh..well that's a stupid idea." She said then went silent. "A child will create a bond between us the bond that's been lost. Think about it and plus I can get a job within the nine months." He said. "We are not having a baby Frank full stop." She said. "Why not?"
"Because I don't care anymore...I am sick and tired of you Frank, all I do is feed you, cloth you and above all feed your mistress and give her all her amenities." She finally blusted her mind out. Franklin changed his facial expression and he was angry. "What did you just say?" He asked standing up on his feet. "You thought I will never find out , well I do and I know her name and I also have her contacts and I talked to her. Don't fool me and you know what I am tired of telling myself that we are working out that we are fixing things between us because we can never be happy so I want a divorce." She said. Franklin stared at her and when the word divorce hit him he froze. "No you can't divorce me we are a couple this are just worse times." He said humbly. But her mind was made up and she had already contacted a lawyer about that. "What about this house it's ours." He asked. She stood up from the dining seat. "I'm leaving it for you..don't you even dare look for me and for your information just wait for the lawyer's divorce documents. She said as she walked to the room and packed all her stuff. Franklin kept begging her not to leave but she wasn't going back on her decision this was her only chance to have Amal by her side forever.
