Chapter 26 - Amal
Amal walked out of the office looking much more exhausted than he had ever be in his entire life. His mind was full and not with work issues but because Sham hadn't called, text or at least answer his calls and reply his messages. He had sent over a hundred voice mails and she never responded. He also tried picking her up but it always seemed like she knew his timing quite appropriately. She had literally cut every connection with him and that made Amal mad. He looked at his wrist watch and decided to grab a drink or two, play pool then go home and call it a day. He got into his car and drove off to the club.
Marcus stood at the counter serving clients as his day job when Amal walked in and grabbed a seat for himself. Marcus could notice his facial language and knew he was madly frustrated. "No response from your girl yet." Marcus said looking at him and passing him a tot glass. He then poured in a drink and pushed it much closer to Amal. "Yeah, I don't get her Marcus, why is she so mad at me. She's not picking my calls, nor answering my messages and she leaves early from work making sure I don't get to see her." Amal said as he rubbed his face with his hand. He then sighed and took a gulp of the drink then wiped his mouth with the back of his hands. "Want to be drunk?" Marcus asked adding another drink. " Hell no, the more I drink the more I think of her." He said then held his hair. "The more I stay sober the more I just feel helpless...but I don' wanna get drunk." He said then looked at Marcus. His eyes were a bit swollen and reddish and he looked worn out. His chin looked more flubby. "I know what can get off the anger." Marcus said as he moved. Amal followed him behind. He wanted something to distract him at least and make him sleepy. Marcus took him to a certain room it looked lonely and smelled french fries and a further smell of pizza. In the room there was a boxing bag Marcus took the boxing gloves and gave it to him. "Hit it, always drains my anger away when I have quarrels with Olivia."
***********
Amal felt his hands being heavy after all the boxing he had done. Marcus was right it was the best way to just get all the stress away. He felt tired too and knew at least he'll be able to have his beauty sleep. Sitting at the living room and enjoying his meal and watching his night show was quite relaxing. He thought of sending another voice mail, but he was out of words. He felt like he'll be repeating himself. He felt really empty without her and the thought of Sham just wouldn't let him be. This girl was like the devil himself. He took his phone and called, 'Hi, this is Sham's voice mail please leave your message after the big.' He was used to such statement for a few days now but to him it felt like eternity. "Hey Sham, I'm sorry, I won't stop sendingy mails I just want a chance to explain myself please." He said them hunged up. Immediately there was a knock at the door. 'At such an hour it must be Sham.' He thought rushing to get the door. Jecinta stood at the door with her bag full of clothes and Amal froze. 'What the heck!' His mind was blank. "Hey Amal.." she said noticing the wierd silence that was building up. "H..he...I mean hey, what are you doing here at this time with your bag." Amal asked as his eyes dropped down to her bag. She smiled and Amal couldn't just get the gesture. "You were right, there is no need to be in a relationship that I have complications." She said then smiled. "Huh!" Amal said his eyebrows rising up as if to ask a question. "Okay the thing is I want to leave here with you for sometime because Franklin kicked me out...oooh Franklin is my ex-husband. Can I?" She said pointing inside and Amal noticed he was demanding an explanation to all that while she was outside. "Sure." Amal said letting her in. He knew something was wrong and everything was not just usual like he thought. Or maybe Sham had sent her, he thought.
