Chapter 22 - Sham
Sham was all excited to meet Jecinta and tell her all about her week. She had fun at Amal's place and she started considering having Amal in her heart. Sham and Jecinta hadn't meet the whole day because Sham had to deliver some few documents to the bank for review since the company needed a loan and they had to check the accounts of the company in order to be guaranteed that they can offer a loan. So Sham being the Accountant was given the task and it was impossible for her to meet Jecinta and spill all the beans about the previous week to her. "Smiling machine, watch your moves because I'm on you." A sound echoed from infront. Sham noticed she was not even looking at the people passing by, she was just fixed on meeting Jecinta. Sandra stood in front of her holding her waist with both hands. "Sandra I'm not in the mood right now...."
"I see you are happy, anyway are you coming to my wedding it's this Saturday and...." She laughed proudly then went on speaking. "I heard that my fiance knifed you, you are so stupid, anyway he's out of jail." She said then walked away. This time her words didn't cut her deep and she felt a little sadness but normal. Sham breathed and didn't want to ruin the mood of the stories she had. Then she thought of Dennis. She was not in her mind the whole last week she was with Amal. Amal made her feel safe and far away from her troubles and everything. "Hey girl.." She finally arrived and found Jecinta taking her handbag leaving. "Ooh I didn't see you lunch time." The two walked out of the Jecinta's office. Jecinta's hand had a magazine but Sham didn't bother. "I had to go to the bank to settle something."
"Oooh okay, anyway I have something bad for you." She said then handed Sham the magazine. "Just read that whole page." She said. The page had Amal's picture and had Amal's life story. Sham spent 10 minutes reading and her eyes kept widening and teary. She then held her mouth as she went on reading. Tears dropped down her flabby cheeks and she wiped it off fast to avoid people's attention. Sham then dropped the magazine and stood as tears kept knocking. "He....he...he killed his wife.." Sham said looking confused. "Yes I was suprised too, he also has a psychiatric disorder girl this man is dangerous." Jecinta said picking up the magazine. Sham took it from her and placed in her handbag. The two walked outside and silence filled both of them. Jecinta didn't know what to tell her friend whereas Sham was literally confused, she had started falling in love with a murderer and a crazy man, she just couldn't stop herself from thinking. Something funny was that he was damn rich and yet he liked he works as a bar manager. Sham felt stupid for not asking more about this man, she felt shameless for going to bed not once with this man and she felt worse for considering having Amal in her life and thinking about him all day long. She felt stupid. Sandra was right she was stupid, she thought.
