Chapter 2 Truth

"Kevin, go now. I'll explain it to Maggie. Your wedding will be held in three days, and the invitation letters have been sent out. Don't ruin the atmosphere because of me. I'll quit and talk with Maggie." Tami tugged Kevin's hand and implored.

Maggie found it ridiculous when Tami called him brother-in-law. She fooled around with the man and called him brother-in-law. Didn't she feel it disgusting?

"Humph." Kevin snorted and turned away.

Standing behind Maggie, Tami pushed the wheelchair towards the balcony.

"Tami, stay away from me." Maggie snarled hysterically.

Tami pushed the wheelchair to the balcony, stood in front of the large floor-to-ceiling window, and spoke blandly, "Sis, do you know who ran over your leg?"

Maggie abruptly looked up at Tami who gave a sweet smile. That was her wonted disguise.

"Me, heh heh..." She giggled, "You must want to know why I tried to run over Kevin, right?"

"Fool, certainly I didn't mean to run over him. I know how much you love him and would definitely go to his rescue."

Now Maggie looked at Tami as if seeing a demon, "Do you hate me that much?"

"Yes, I do. I should be the first miss of the Johnson family. Dad and my mom were in love for many years, but your mother stole him away and became his legal wife. My mother could only become his concubine, and I was reduced to an illegitimate daughter." Tami gnashed her teeth.

While explaining, she became angrier, "Maggie, what you have is originally mine. The villa is mine. The company is mine. Kevin is also mine. Now I just take them back."

"Originally yours? What belongs to you? The villa is owned by my mother, and the company belongs to my grandfather. Before my mother married dad, he had nothing. You are not a rich lady since the very beginning." Maggie's voice was cold, and she looked indifferent.

"And it was dad who courted my mother. She didn't even know he had a girlfriend."

"Shut up." Tami covered Maggie's mouth like a crazy person.

Maggie already came to this but still looked so aloof and arrogant. She hated her for that. Maggie looked as if she didn't care. The things Tami fought for so hard seemed worthless in her eyes.

Maggie stopped talking, and Tami giggled in a coquettish voice as if she suddenly remembered something, "Oh, right, Maggie, you know, after the car accident, your leg could be healed. It was my mom who signed the paper to have the amputation. And after the surgery, my mom has been adding some ingredients in your food, which undermines your health. Don't you feel increasingly weaker? Ha-ha..."

Following her words, she laughed frantically.

Maggie finally showed expression and trembled, "Your mother and you are shameless, but I tell you what, don't even think about getting my mother's legacy."

"Maggie, you'd better be smart enough to hand over your mother's ring, and I will consider letting you live." Said Tami condescendingly.

The corner of Maggie's lips curved up, and she spoke, stressing each syllable, "Never."

No sooner had her voice died away, she exerted strength, and the wheelchair plunged off the balcony.

During her fall, she saw Tami's pale face.

From her pocket, she took out that ruby ring, stuffed it into her mouth, and swallowed it.

Tami, Kevin, you would never know the ring was in my belly. You would never get it.
