Chapter 10 We Look Like
Six years later
Risingsun Hotel, Skyfall City
A charity auction was being held here. The host was Sophie Lopez. She was kind of famous as a host now.
Various antiques and jewelries were displayed in the lobby. On the second floor of the hallway, two small figures were running towards each other from both sides.
"Ouch-"
"It hurts--"
The two little things rubbed their heads, looked at each other, and then they pointed their fingers at each other.
"What--"
"You--"
"There is no place to hide, they will find you." The little boy in suits on the left took a look backwards, holding the boy on the opposite side.
The boy who was in T-shirt and casual pants looked to the opposite, nodded, took the other boy's hand, walked a few steps, opened the door and hid inside "Huh-it's dangerous, I almost got caught." The boy in suits leaned against the door, patted his chest with one hand, and exclaimed.
"You......"
"You look like me, my name is Marshall Brown, What's yours?" The boy in suits stared at the T-shirt boy.
"Carl Lopez." The face expression of the boy in T-shirt didn't seem to change, only his big eyes showed his mood at this moment.
"I'm six years old, how about you?" Marshall Brown asked with interest.
"Six years old." Carl Lopez still said coolly.
"Ah! You are also six years old. When is your birthday? Mine is May 10."
"May 10." Carl Lopez was confused. They were a lot alike and they also were born on the same day.
"You are, too?" Marshall Brown frowned, and said in amazement, that little mouth opened wide for a few seconds.
Carl Lopez remained silent.
Marshall Brown sat down on the carpet, holding his small chin in his hands, and looking at Carl Lopez from head to toe, his bright eyes were filled with curiosity, joy, and confusion.
"In my class two children look exactly the same. The teacher said that they are twins, and that they were born on the same day. "Are we twins?" Marshall Brown wondered.
"Impossible. My mom never said that I have a brother."
"My dad never said that I have a brother, either ..." Marshall Brown said, and then again stared at Carl Lopez.
"What about your mom?"
"I don't have mom, only my dad, and ...shush... they're here." Marshall Brown said, made a snoring gesture. Footsteps were coming from outside.
When the footsteps outside seemed to be far away, Marshall Brown spoke again, in a quite fast speed. Carl Lopez followed him, and sat down against the door.
The two of them talked for a long time, basically it was Marshall Brown who was talking all the time and Carl Lopez nodded occasionally. The two little men chatted with excitement in the room.
The last exhibit at the auction was an emerald necklace. This emerald necklace was worn by Sophie Lopez around her neck. The white cut-out dress and the emerald bead chain complemented each other beautifully.
Something just didn't feel right today for Sophie Lopez, and she did not know why. She had the feeling. She was kind of absent-minded when she was the host. It was not surprising that she became the focus of attention. As a host, she was used to it and enjoyed it. But it all seemed different today. She took a deep breath and looked at the audience with a smile.
