Chapter 9 Daddy is No Easy
"Is he a premature?" William Edwin asked.
"No, 37 weeks is not a premature. He is very healthy. I don't know if he looks like his dad. He doesn't look like me at all." Lopez's eyes were filled with tears.
William Edwin's eyes reached to the baby. The child was small, his skin was very fair, and his hair was shining black. He was asleep, William Edwin couldn't see how his eyes looked like. From what He could see, the child really looked like Matthew Brown.
"He is too small, I can't tell." William Edwin was perfunctory. The child was leaving her soon. It did not matter if he looked like her.
In the afternoon, William Edwin returned to Skyfall City with the child and birth certificate.
Matthew returned to his residence the minute he got He's phone call. This was the first time he had left the work behind, but it was all worth it for his son.
"President, the child looks like you." William Edwin held the child in front of Matthew Brown and lowered his voice.
"Did she say anything?" Matthew Brown took the child, and to be honest, he couldn't tell if the child looked like him or not. He still liked it when William Edwin said so.
"No, she cried." William Edwin was silent for a moment. As a lawyer, he could be cold-blooded at times. But the tears that Sophie Lopez tried to hold back a few hours ago made him warm again.
Matthew Brown touched the child's face lightly and frowned. "Did she take the check?"
"Yes, she did."
"William, do you sympathize her?" Matthew Brown raised an eyebrow and looked at William Edwin. He did not hear any dissatisfaction from his voice, but William Edwin knew that Matthew Brown was unhappy.
"There are gains and losses. She made a choice from the beginning. Besides, the children can be better educated and taken care of by you." William Edwin didn't think that way though.
He knew this was going to end like this from the beginning when he represented Matthew. That was why William Edwin refused to take the job at first.
William Edwin was cold-blooded, but Matthew Brown was even colder. Taking back the child meant that there would no longer be intersections between them.
This was the cruelest thing he had ever done since he became a lawyer. He was cruel to Sophie Lopez, and to the little life who would never meet his mom in the hands of Matthew Brown.
Matthew Brown could indeed provide the best environment for the child, but nothing could replace mother's love.
"This is the choice she made. Between her child and her mother, she chose her mother, and that's the end. Marshall Brown. It's his name" Matthew Brown looked at the sleeping child, feeling hopefully: "He is my son. Matthew Brown's son, Greatflow Group will be in his hand one day. Look, he's awake."
While Matthew was talking, those dark bright eyes opened up. Then the baby cried out loud and soon his eyes were filled with tears.
"Doesn't he like me?" Looking at the little face, Matthew Brown stiffened.
"Maybe He is hungry. This child has been sleeping all the time and has only eaten once when he was taken from Miss Lopez." William Edwin said, opening the bag, which contained milk powder and baby bottles.
"You know how to do this?" Matthew Brown looked at the milk powder and frowned. He was considering to find a 'nanny' for the child.
