Chapter 3 Innocent person gets killed in the chase

"I heard some footsteps, but no one is there here. Let me check whether the doors are locked or not." Samuel thought to himself and came down.

"Who is it?" Samuel shouted.

Suddenly the power in the house is switched off.

"Dad, please be careful. I will bring a candle." Samuel said.

"Son, don't worry. I don't have any fear. I had seen the dark stage of my life earlier only. This darkness is very light when compared to that stage." Johnson said and sat on the chair.

Someone entered the room, Johnson.

"Son, did you bring the candle?" Johnson asked.

Johnson did not hear any answer. He opened his eyes and saw towards the door. He is unable to identify anyone in that darkness.

"Son, Is it you?" Johnson shouted with fear.

"Dad, what happened?" Samuel shouted from the kitchen.

The hands of Johnson were shivering, and he went near to the door.

Suddenly someone lit a candle in the room.

"Son, why didn't you tell me that you only came when I asked you so many times?" Johnson said and turned his head towards the chair.

He saw Brooks dressed in a brown hat and black coat. His face has scar marks, and his age is nearly fifty years. But, his eyes are that are like a cat will make anyone fear. After seeing him, Johnson shouted at once and had fallen with a pain in the heart.

"Who is that girl who came into your house?" Brooks asked.

"Girl! What are you saying? How did you come here?" Johnson asked with shivering hands.

"Don't try to fool me. I am not as good as you think. Don't force me to kill you. Give the information that I want, and I will go without doing any harm to you." Brooks said and took a knife from his pocket.

"What information do you want? I did not understand what you were saying?" Johnson said with fear.

"It's OK. If you don't know about the girl, leave it. I will find out in my way. Bring that little girl outside. She is the evidence of the things that we did. I want her." Brooks said and stepped forward.

"Are you a fool? Don't you understand what I say? How many times I must say that I don't know anyone whom you are searching?" Johnson said, but his facial expressions changed as slight pain came in his heart.

"So, You don't know anyone. So then, why did the girl jump into your house? Why do you give shelter to her? Why are the lights switched on at this time?" Brooks said and pushed Johnson onto the floor.

"Believe me! No one came. We did not hide any girl." Johnson said and shouted with pain.

"Son, come fast. Severe pain is coming in the heart." Johnson shouted.

"Dad, don't fear. I am bringing the candle. Wait for one second." Samuel said.

Brooks heard the sound of Samuel's footsteps. He kept the knife in his pocket and went into the restroom. Brooks opened the glass windows, jumped outside from the window, and fell on the grass. He ran out but saw the Gurkha coming towards the vehicle. Brooks hid near the gate of the house.

"Who is there inside the vehicle?" Robinson asked.

"Hudson, this Gurkha knows me. I will stay inside the vehicle. You get down and speak with him. If he identifies me, we will land in a problem." Ashton said and took the gun out.

"Don't worry—no need to use this weapon. We must be careful, as Boss is inside that house. I will speak with him." Hudson said and got down from the vehicle.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Robinson asked and took the knife out.

"Mr. Who are you to ask me?" Hudson asked and lit the cigar.

"Hello, I am a Gurkha. I have the right to question anyone whom I suspect. Your face is full of sweat in this winter season. Did you commit any mistake?" Robinson asked.

"Mr. Take this amount and go away. I am waiting for my friend." Hudson said and kept money on the vehicle.

"If you are waiting for your friend, there is no need to give me the amount like this. You agree that you have committed a mistake if you give the amount. Tell me what the mistake is? Otherwise, I will batter you till you tell me the truth. What do you say?" Robinson said firmly.

"If you won't take the amount, will you take this gift?" Hudson took the gun from his pocket and placed it on the car.

"I understood that something is happening here. Are you the partner of the girl who escaped from here?" Robinson asked.

"Do you have that much information about that girl? Is she your girlfriend?" Hudson asked and pointed the gun towards Robinson.

"This idiot doesn't know when to speak and how to speak. For everything, I must give instructions. How to send this Gurkha away?" Brooks began to think with irritation and heard Samuel's voice from inside.

"I must do something. Otherwise, the members of the house will catch me." So Brooks thought and took the gun from his pocket.

"Dad, where are you? I didn't hear your voice. Are you frightened?" Samuel asked and entered the room. He found something near to his feet.

"Dad, is it you? What happened? Please get up." Samuel shouted.

"Son, Someone.." Johnson stopped and showed his fingers towards the restroom. His breath stopped, and "God placed him in heaven."

"Dad, please see me. Get up, Dad." Samuel shouted with tears.

"Something happened in that house. I will see your end if you are found guilty." Robinson said and took Hudson inside the house.

"Sir, please open the door," Robinson shouted.

Suddenly Robinson had fallen with pain as Brooks hit him on his neck with the gun.

"Idiot, don't you know how to handle him? Do you think that he is a fool like you?" Brooks shouted and asked Hudson to start the vehicle.

"Boss, I did not expect that he has much courage. After seeing his eyes, I became weak and surrendered myself." Hudson said and started the vehicle.

Robinson got up and looked around for the person whom he saw outside. Immediately, he ran outside the house by whistling.

"Hey, stop the vehicle. Thief, Thief." Robinson shouted and ran along with the vehicle.

The vehicle crossed him, and turned the street, and moved ahead. Robinson followed the car but could not chase its speed. Instead, he stopped on the road with shortness of breath and sat on the stairs of a shopping complex.

"Something happened there. I must find out that. Yes. If I go into the house, I will get a clue." So Robinson thought and went towards the house of Samuel.

By the time he reached there, an ambulance had started with the dead body of Johnson. He ran towards the vehicle to know what happened but got stuck up in the heavy crowd, and the ambulance left the place.

"What happened? Why ambulance come here?" Robinson asked.

"The old person in the house got a sudden stroke. His son took him to the hospital." One person from the crowd said.

"Is it a murder or just a health problem?" Robinson asked.

"Who knows? If we speak anything outside, the police will ask us to come to the station daily. We are only having many problems. Who will see our family if we go to the police station daily?" A person from the crowd said and left the place. Soon all the group moved away, except Robinson.

"I am confident that the persons whom I saw in the vehicle had done something. Let me go inside and find out the truth." Robinson went near to the house of Johnson.

Robinson checked the house thoroughly but did not find any clue. "I saw a girl, her husband, and another person. Who killed that older adult, and what will they get by killing him? Is it for an older adult, or is there anything behind this murder? It looks like a mystery. I need to find out." So Robinson thought and left the place.

"Today, so many incidents happened that no one can expect in a single night. I think there is a link between every incident. Who is that girl who jumped the wall? How to find out her?" Robinson thought to himself and began whistling on the road by making a sound with a stick.

"Amelia, finally, we reached your house safely. No one followed us. Belle said and stopped the vehicle.

"Belle, you did a great favor to me today. I am lucky to have a friend like you." Amelia said with tears and hugged Belle.

"Don't become emotional. You are my best friend, and I feel pleasure in helping you always." Belle said and wiped the tears of Amelia.

"Belle, Take care of Charlotte. This little girl lost everyone for the selfishness of a billionaire. I will find out the mystery behind my sister's life incidents. Till then, this girl must not come outside. Bye." Amelia said and kissed Charlotte, who was sleeping.

"I will take care of this girl. Don't worry. Be careful with the criminals who are playing hide and seek game." Belle said.

"OK. Bye." Amelia said and got down from the vehicle.

Belle closed the vehicle's doors and drove the car towards the city's outskirts.

Amelia opened the doors and went inside the house without making any noise. She switched on the lights in her room and found her Dad was waiting for her.

"Baby, now the time is morning 2.00 AM. Did you see the time?" Fifty-two-year-old Liam asked.

"Dad, I am sorry for not informing you that surgery is there in the hospital that I must attend. From next time onwards, I won't repeat this." Amelia said.

"Amelia, I am becoming old. Your Mom gave birth to you and left the world. From that day onwards, I took care of you. Now, you become mature and can take decisions on your own." Liam said.

"Dad, I can understand your feelings. But, you know the reason why I am spending my time in the clinic only." Amelia said with tears.

"Amelia, God gave a gift to human beings of forgetting the sad things that happen in life. You are a Doctor. I think you can understand. Go and sleep. Bye." Liam said and left the room.

"Dad, I am stuck up in a situation that I cannot explain. My main duty is to save a girl's life from the criminals and prove their illegal things before the court." Amelia said in a low voice and came out of her room.

Amelia opened the doors of her sister's room and went inside.

"Sister, where are you?" Amelia asked and looked around.

"I am playing with my baby. Don't shout. Baby will wake up with the sound." Twenty-seven-year-old Shriya said and hugged the doll.

"Sister, I cannot say the truth to you that you are playing with a doll and cannot admit you in the hospital, as the criminals will trace you." How to bring you back into the normal state is a question that is torturing me every second." Amelia said and kissed Shriya's forehead.

"Move away. You are not a good girl. You disturbed my baby's sleep." Shriya said and stood up.

"Sister, It's already late. Please sleep. I will make your baby sleep." Amelia said and took the doll from her hands.

"My baby will cry if you make noise again. Give me the baby." Shriya said and tried to take the doll from Amelia's hands.

"Don't worry. Your baby says that if you sleep, she will sleep." Amelia said.

"Will you make my baby sleep?" Shriya asked.

"Yes. Please sleep on my lap for some time." Amelia said and kept Shriya's head on her lap.

"I don't know where my family is there. Do you know them?" Shriya asked.

"Yes. Your family will come within a few days. They asked me to look at you carefully till they come. If you take the medicines on time, they will come early." Amelia said and caressed Shriya's hair.

"But medicines are sour in taste. So I am unable to take the medicines into my mouth. The doctor will use a big needle for me while giving the injection. Beat that doctor tomorrow if she uses the big needle." Shriya said and closed her eyes.

"Sister, You don't know that you are a surgeon. Even if I say, there is of no use now." Amelia said with tears and made Shriya sleep on the bed.

"Today, I am lucky to save the evidence from their hands. But, tomorrow, who will save? All the time, it is impossible to save that little girl. What to do? How to fight with the clever mind that is behind all this game? If I am lost, those idiots will kill everyone. How to protect these lives?" Amelia thought and sat on the chair, not knowing what to do.
