Fantasy Romance>The Shadow of Forever>CHAPTER 3

CHAPTER 3

She remembers Miss Wangberg transforming into a wolf and attempting to fight off Mr. Carden but another bigger wolf ended their fight. ‘I must be dreaming,’ Ann thinks to herself.

Ann is on cloud9. With the amount of blood lost she sinks underwater when Wynn and Shysie let go of her. Ann feels so good that she does not have the urge to breathe. She opens her eyes and saw the sexiest guy ever, Parris. ‘He is so beautiful’ she thinks to herself.

Parris lands his lips on hers and kisses her deeply before bringing her up to the service. Parris bites his own upper arm. “Drink,” he compels her. Parris knows that he won't be able to feed of her for the next 2 days with vampire blood in her system but two vampires should never feed on one human at the same time unless they intend to kill their prey and the Higher Council forbids it.

Ann obeys and starts drinking Parris's blood. She starts to see memories that do not belong to her. They scare her but she is unable to stop drinking his blood, it tastes good, almost sweet. She starts to come down from her intoxicated state and wonders why she is drinking Parris's blood.

“Stop, that is enough,” Parris compels her to stop and she does.

Ann immediately swims away from them not knowing what she is doing there in the first place.

“Shit, we haven’t sealed her wounds yet,” Wynn says, about to make his way to Ann.

Dario appears out of nowhere, “What are you guys doing feeding on school property? You guys should know better than to feed on humans that are not part of our nest.”

The three of them make their way out of the pool and leaves with super speed, leaving Dario to deal with a confused Ann.

Dario sees Ann’s beautiful naked body and quickly looks away. He can smell the blood and it activates his Vampire instincts. He controls himself and turns around to face a scared and confused Ann.

Ann did not know what to do. She has never acted out at school and with all memories intact of what just happened she is filled with fear.

Dario takes a step closer, but she gives one backward, “Please don’t make me forget, I won't tell a soul, I promise!” she begs him.

“Fine, I won’t compel you to forget but I must compel you not to tell anyone, ok?” Dario asks.

“Ok,” Ann says, allowing him to get closer.

Dario puts his fingers in his mouth and puts saliva on her bite marks, “first let’s get these healed up.”

Dario compels Ann not to tell anyone and send her on her way. Dario puts his fingers in his mouth tasting Ann’s blood. He gets a hint of Vampire blood and spits it out.

A scared Ann quickly gets dressed and cannot believe her substitute teacher just saw her naked let alone that he and some students appear to be Vampires. She also thinks about what just happened and the past couple of days. She wonders why the Vampires did not take Jessica as well. Why only her? And werewolves? She remembers Miss Wangberg.

Even though Ann is scared she can feel the excitement rising up in her. She just remembered that she drank from Parris. ‘I wonder if I will become a Vampire as well now?’ She thinks to herself. She got excited by the idea and rushed home to do some research. When she got home, Parris was already waiting for her inside. For a moment she wondered about the fiction novels where Vampires need an invitation.

“Ann, your friend Parris says you made arrangements to tutor him. He has been waiting for 30 minutes already” Ann’s moms say, smiling and helping Ann take off her jacket.

“Thanks, mom, I'll take it from here,” Ann says, wondering if he fed on her, feeling slight anger rising in her.

“Ok, I have a video call with your dad, I will tell him that you can not make it, but you better make it up to him,” her mother says about to leave to her study.

“Actually mom, I will join you in a bit. Parris missed understood me, the study session was supposed to be after school and I waited for you. Goodbye Parris see you tomorrow at school and I will tutor you after school, tomorrow,” Ann drags out her words, dragging him to the door.

“Nonsense,…” her mother is about to protest but Ann cut her off.

“You know I never miss a chat with dad,” she says, managing to get Parris out the door and quickly shutting it.

“Ann! You are so rude!” her mother says shocked.

Ann locks her arm in with her mothers and drags her to the study.

Ann is mentally not present during the video call with her dad. She wondered if Parris already knew that Dario did not compel her to forget and perhaps came to finish the job. She then wondered if there is anything, she could do to prevent them from compelling her again.

After the video call, she helped her mother with dinner. Her mother is curious about the new teacher and new students.

“Miss Wangberg is recovering well, but she is still in a coma,” her mother tried to make small talk while stirring the sauce.

“That is good to know,” Ann responds setting the table.

“So, who is the substitute? Anyone, I know?” Ann’s mother tries again.

“Don’t think so. Mr. Carden. First name Dario,” Ann says.

“Parris started today with two other students, think they are twins or something,” Ann says taking a seat at the table.

Her mom dishes for both of them and brings the plates over before pouring herself a glass of wine. Ann’s mom enjoyed a beautiful set table at every dinner. No matter if she is dining alone or with guest, she always set the table with table arrangements and candles.

“Tell me about Parris, he is handsome,” Ann’s mom, also named Ann tries to fish out if her daughter has a romantic connection with him.

“Don’t really know him, mom, they only started today,” Ann respond taking a bite of steak to make sure she has reason enough to chew long and avoid any more questions.
