Oscar entered his office and took off his suit then sat down looking very tired. He got a message from his secretary and turn off the phone without reading it. After crying for days and all he felt so tired and hungry but still doesn't feel like eating. He still remembers his father’s last words before he dead very clearly. He dropped the drink in his hand and use his hand to rob his head then he start to doze off until his phone started ringing and he picked it up.

“yes secretary James”

“do you get my message boss? The lawyer said to meet tomorrow and he might be able to do something about your father’s will and we can easily get your step sister to sign those documents”

“okay, we will talk about that tomorrow am tired and also lets meet at my house tomorrow instead of the office” he replied and cut the call then walk over to another part of the room and opened the door leading to a bedroom then he removed his clothes and slept off

Joyce woke up in the middle of the night from a bad dream and sat up a little sacred. She cant believe that stupid Oscar will even come to torment her in her dream. She shook her head furiously as she remembers the content of the dream again, she kissing Oscar? She laugh as she remember and walk out of the room and not even in the house but in the states. She was sure the both of them as never met outside of the house talk of seeing each other at the states. She walk straight to the fridge and gulp some water down her throat then decide not to sleep again and while away the time with some movies and snacks but fell asleep after two hours and slept off on the couch

The noise from the kitchen was what made Joyce woke up from her slumber. She look up and saw that she has actually slept on the couch. She stood up to enter the kitchen and check who on earth was it that just disturbed her peaceful sleep and she was surprised to discover that it was the maids. She had thought that they will be on leave until the next week then her step father’s assistant appeared from another part of the house entering the kitchen to join them

“you are awake, I didn’t want to disturb your sleep that’s why I didn’t wake you up when I came in” Mr Matthew said and walk up closer to her

“ah yes, good morning” Joyce find herself saying

“i ordered the maids to return so you could have some help around the house” Joyce nodded her head at his words

“am sure you must still be unaware about this but your dad’s will has read and he left some inheritance for you so why don’t you have something to eat first then we can talk in details about it” he said again before walking out of the kitchen leaving her with the maid. Joyce was confused and wonder what on earth is going on, why will the will be read so soon and also she was sure the things left for her will probably be some money she can use to sustain herself and live well so why do they need to discuss anything. She made to leave the kitchen but then accidentally bump into one of the maid and got some water on her clothes

“Oh my!” Joyce exclaimed and move away a bit. The maid just look on not caring that she poured water on her

“you should have looked at where you are going? You’ve just added to our work” the maid said angrily and walk away. Joyce look on surprised and turn to see everyone giving her a weird look which clearly show that they are not pleased with her, Joyce wonder what was going and just apologized and left to clean herself up and have a bath. She came down in less than an hour and went straight to the dinning room to get something to eat and as she was eating, she heard the maids whispering and what they said made her realize what was going on around her

“i thought her mother was enough but didn’t except that the daughter will be worse. I mean how can they both think of coming here and getting what is not theirs?” the maid who hit her earlier Jane said angrily

“to think that she even has the gut to eat comfortably is more annoying, she is obviously shameless” another one said and they both hiss out aloud. Joyce knows that none of them actually likes her as it seems they are still faithful to Oscar’s mom but then what did they mean by she is shameless? Joy thought and listen on

Maggie the head of staff suddenly entered and cut in to the conversation

“am sure you know that she is now equally your boss and she has the power to send you all packing out of this house so you better shut up and get to work” she said sternly and walk out of the kitchen towards Joyce who was still surprised by what she just heard

“Ma’am, boss said to bring you to the company in exactly one hour from now and he also stated that you should be given a new dress so you might want to hurry up” she said and bow her head a little before leaving

“what on earth is going on?” Joyce thought again and left her food to change into the dress prepared for her and went to the company together with Mr Matthew

Then Joyce find out the most unexpected. Her stepfather actually gave her half of all his wealth dividing everything equally between her and Oscar, he even made her the head of one of his company and added some clauses and conditions Joyce skipped without reading them

“this is crazy!” Joyce exclaimed for the umpteenth time as the lawyer place some document in front of her to sign them. Having no other choice, Joyce find herself signing the document that will make her life a living hell the more. She is sure Oscar must be thinking of her as a real gold digger now
