Chapter 5 Seven Cousins?
The old man led Nora into the villa, told her to wait in the living room, and went to report it to the old master.
"Who are you?" While Nora was looking around, a voice suddenly came over.
"My name is Nora, and who are you?" She looked cautiously at the man who came out of nowhere.
"This is my house, and you ask about me?" The man sulked.
"Ryan, how could you shout at our guest! Apologize." Before she could respond, another voice came from upstairs.
"Grandpa, big brother." Ryan Conway stuck out his tongue before running flatteringly to an old man in his 60s and a young man in his 20s.
"Your mother is Susan?" The speaker was none other than Nora's grandfather, Andrew.
"Yes, are you Grandpa Andrew?" At a glance, Nora liked the amiable old man and took two steps forward.
"Yes, you look alike! You look so much like your mother."
At a glance, Andrew confirmed that she was Susan's daughter. They were like two peas in a pod.
"Where is your mother? Are you here alone?" Leaning on a crutch, Andrew looked at the door in the hope of seeing his daughter.
"Grandpa, my mother... she passed away five years ago. I was too young and waited all these years to visit you."
The thought of her mother saddened her so much that her tears fell uncontrollably.
"Alas... this is fate..." Andrew closed his eyes and covered his chest sadly.
"Grandpa, although Aunt Susan is gone, you still have a granddaughter. Please take care and cherish her."
Brook Conway supported the old man and feared excessive grief would lead to hypertension.
"Grandpa, the origins of this girl are unknown. Why are you so sure she is Susan's daughter? I think this is yet to be verified."
Ryan glanced at Nora arrogantly and turned to his grandfather.
"I have proof." She had anticipated this. In a quick fashion, she took off the diamond necklace and placed it in Andrew's hand.
"If this is not enough, I can have a DNA test." Nora didn't mince words.
"Do the test..."
"Shut up, Ryan. I'm sure that she is my granddaughter. This necklace was given by your grandmother as a gift when Susan came of age."
The old man looked at the diamond necklace with misty eyes.
"Girl, how old are you?" He looked at Nora and asked graciously.
"Grandpa, I'm 21." She answered elegantly.
"Brook, go inform everyone. I'll introduce your cousin to all of you tonight."
The old man instructed, grabbed Nora's hand, and led her to chat in the courtyard.
"Brook, is this girl really Susan's daughter?" No longer arrogant, Ryan asked excitedly.
"Given Grandpa's happy face, I think so. Our cousin is quite cute."
Brook watched the leaving figure, arched his caterpillar brow, and felt good to have a little cousin.
"Great, finally I'm no longer the youngest in our family and get a new playmate."
Ryan jumped for joy. In the past 20 years, he had never expected to have a cousin.
As night fell, Conway's house was quite lively.
"What's the deal? Why did grandpa suddenly ask everyone to come back?" Luther Conway, the second son of the Conway family, looked at his big brother wonderingly.
"Brook, I was having fun with my girl, and you suddenly called me back. I hope this is worth it."
Damian Conway, the fourth son of the Conway family, was a well-known playboy in the entertainment circle. Rich and handsome, he attracted a lot of girls.
"Brook, I still have a pile of documents to review. When will we be dismissed?"
Vincent Conway, the third son of the Conway family, was a famous lawyer who had never lost a lawsuit.
"Brook..."
"Brook..."
George Conway and Chase Conway called out at the same time. Serving in the army, the twins were happy to come back for some fun.
"Quiet, everyone, Grandpa will announce it in a moment."
Brook, the eldest son of the Conway family, rubbed his ears numbed by the noise. Then around the corner, the old man was seen coming downstairs with Nora.
"Who's this girl? She's so pretty." Damian couldn't take his eyes off pretty girls. Old habit died hard.
"Philanderer, that's none of your business, drop that idea."
Brook said coldly to break his illusion, otherwise, when he learned about Nora's identity later, he would be too ashamed to show his face.
"Ahem... now that everyone is back, I'd like to announce something. This girl, Nora, is Susan's daughter and your cousin. From now on, you should spoil and love her. You are not allowed to bully her. Are you clear?"
The old man held Nora's hand happily. The seven sons of the Conway family did not doubt that the girl was their cousin.
In the next few days, they brought Nora out to show off.
On day 1, she was taken to Brook's company and introduced to his employees.
On day 2, Luther took her to the race and introduced her to his friends in the club.
On day 3, Vincent took her to his law firm. Apart from introducing her to his employees, he also imparted her some legal knowledge. Laws could be used to protect herself.
On day 4, Damian didn't take her to the filming site lest rumors might arise. Instead, he took her to dance in a bar.
Later that night, the old man found out Damian's misconduct and asked the pitiful man to repent in the ancestral hall.
Nora was treated differently. Everyone believed it was all Damian's fault. He must have lured the innocent girl. Nora was comforted rather than punished.
On day 5, George and Chase took her to the army, not for training, of course. She could experience and stay there if she liked.
To become a stronger woman, Nora requested to stay there for a couple of days. When the twins went home without her, they were reprimanded by the old man and asked to bring her back.
