Chapter 6 Sick

The past two leisure months had seen Nora living happily in M Country. In fact, she was happier than in the past when her mother was alive.

"Girl, this fish is fresh from the oven, take a bite." Andrew affably picked up dishes for her and smiled till his face creased.

"Thank you, Grandpa." With a smile, she used her bowl to catch a piece of fish picked up by Andrew.

"Barf..." Nora hastily covered her mouth and fought back the urge to vomit.

She liked eating fish but felt sick as soon as she smelt it today.

"Girl, what's wrong?" Andrew stood up and looked at her with concern.

"Nora, are you feeling unwell?" The seven sons of the Conway family asked in unison, put down their chopsticks, went over, and asked worriedly.

"I'm fine... barf..." Unwilling to worry everyone, she waved her hand.

Before she could finish, Ryan picked up her bowl. As she smelt the fish again, her stomach started to churn.

"Ryan, take the bowl away. Can't you see that Nora is sick of that smell?"

Brook glanced at his brother coldly. Just now, the observant man noticed that Nora was sick because of the fish.

"Okay, Brook, right away." Ryan saw her pale face and knew it was not the right time to joke.

"Girl, are you alright? Did you eat anything rotten?"

Andrew tapped the floor with his crutch and asked anxiously.

"Grandpa, I'm feeling much better. Perhaps my stomach couldn't stand the raw fish. I'm fine now."

As the fishy smell was gone, she felt much better. Her stomach stopped churning.

"I can't rest my mind at ease unless you receive a checkup in the hospital."

Andrew said with visible concern and asked Brook to get the car.

Before Nora could decline, she had been supported into the car. The mature and steady Brook then drove away.

Andrew didn't go with them because of his old age. The rest of her cousins followed in three cars.

At the entrance of the hospital, the dean had been waiting. Without further ado, he pushed Nora inside to have a checkup.

The physical examination took two hours, and her eyelids felt heavy.

"Nora, if you're sleepy, I can take you back for a rest. I'll tell you the results when you wake up. What do you think?"

After the examination, Brook noticed her pale face and drooping spirits.

"Yeah, thanks, Brook." Nora planned to hold up a while longer but knew her physical condition well. It was wise for her to go home and have a rest.

She didn't know why, but always felt sleepy and tired recently.

"Silly girl, we don't need such formalities among family members." Brook rubbed her hair with a smile. His tone was reproachful but his face was filled with tenderness.

Then he took the girl back while his six brothers volunteered to stay.
