Chapter 17 Seeing Someone?
Ding...
The screen lit up again as a WeChat message came in.
Connor: Ms. Chambers, I had a car accident and ended up in the hospital. I'm afraid I can't attend the meeting with Hayes Group tonight. Boss, I have to ask for your help with the deal.
The text ended with a pitiful emoji.
Hailey instantly rested her mind at ease. This could serve as a fair excuse to reject Sweet Dog's invitation.
Hailey: Connor, send me the address. I'll negotiate with them tonight.
Connor soon texted back: Edge Club.
Hailey saw the address and switched back to the chat with Sweet Dog.
Coincidentally, it was the same address but different booths.
Was this destiny?
Hailey held her phone and replied to the message.
Sea Rafflesia: Okay, see you later.
At 11 o'clock, the Andersons went to bed after a long day.
When the outside was all quiet, Hailey sneakily opened the door, crept out to the shadows of the garden, and swiftly climbed over the wall.
After leaving Anderson's residence, she headed north.
At the far end sat the largest villa with the best location. It was the best across the Orchid villa area.
She purchased the property before returning to Sea City.
She quietly reached the gate, scanned her fingerprint, and entered the villa with composure.
"Hi, my hostess is back; how is everything? Did you have fun at the party today?"
A short-haired woman looked up from the computer screen and greeted Hailey.
This woman was named Judy Yates. She was Hailey's partner and close friend.
"How is everything? Is the sound clear?" Hailey walked over, glanced at the screen, and asked.
Today, while the Andersons were busy preparing the banquet, she installed bugs in every corner of the house.
High efficiency was her style.
Since her opponent was the Andersons, she didn't mind applying some techniques.
"All set, the entire residence is under our surveillance." Judy patted her chest and said confidently.
"You never fail a task. Come here, select the clothes for me. I have an appointment tonight."
"What appointment? Where? Can I go with you?"
Judy immediately followed her to the cloakroom. The large room was filled with the latest clothes, shoes, jewelry, and handbags from major brands.
All the objects were neatly arranged by color and style.
"A lot of companies in Sea City are interested in the security system we developed recently. Connor is caught up in something, and I need to have a meeting with the representatives of Hayes Group." Hailey briefed the case while selecting her clothes.
Judy folded her arms on her chest and sized her up, head to toe.
"Really, nothing else?"
"Huh? What else?" Hailey smiled but dared not look at her friend.
Judy lowered her head, came up, looked her in the eye, and asserted.
"Hailey, you're lying. Take a look at the clothes in your hand. Usually, you'll choose the black, white, and gray ones from the three rows on the left when you go out for business. According to you, you look more mature and professional in such clothes."
Hailey looked down at the light pink sleeveless tasseled dress in her hand and flinched.
"Tell me the truth, where are you going tonight?"
Hailey smiled again and turned to the section of black clothes on the left.
Judy followed her, "Seeing someone? Sweetheart, keep your eyes open, and do not let those bad men take advantage of you. If anyone dares to get his hands on you, you beat the crap out of him, okay?"
