Chapter 24 You're so Doomed
The German shepherd dog finally found the thief and barked at the flower house. Zoey stopped, quickly left the flower house, and ran towards Charlie, who tightly held the armrest of the wheelchair.
"Lucky, lucky, come out for milk."
"Woof, woof..." The dog kept barking at the flower house and seemed to be ready to rush past the hostess at any moment.
The greenhouse was transparent. Confused by the barks, the hostess glanced at the greenhouse, seeing a figure and screaming.
"Honey, what happened?" The man heard his wife's cry and ran out of the house.
"Dear... There is, there is someone..." The woman pointed at the greenhouse and stammered.
Zoey was holding a big bunch of roses. One drop on the ground when she ran away, and she went back to pick it up. Charlie was stunned by Zoey.
If she liked roses so much, he could give her a garden.
"Come out!" Charlie called out to Zoey.
Zoey jumped on the flower wall, swiftly climbed up the iron fence, and landed steadily.
"Thief!"
"Woof, woof, woof..."
"I'm not a thief. I put the money in the greenhouse. That's enough to cover your cost. " Zoey explained.
"My husband, these flowers are for you. I wish you a happy birthday and every day as happy as today."
Zoey put the flowers in his arms. Looking at the roses, Charlie thought to himself, "I don't want to experience this for the second time."
"Flower thief, stay there!"
Zoey found the voice very familiar. She had been too nervous to see the man's face clearly. She looked back, and the moment she recognized the man, her face turned deathly pale.
The man came out of the house with a stick.
"Run." Charlie tugged Zoey, who stood still.
Zoey pushed Charlie's wheelchair and ran quickly. It was a downhill road. Zoey stood directly on the wheelchair to slide down.
Charlie's heart beat faster as they slid down. He gripped the handle of the wheelchair tightly to keep them as steady as possible.
After chasing them for 100 meters, the man behind them was too tired to continue. He stopped, propping himself up with the stick and panting.
"Zoey, you can run away now, but you can't escape from my class! "
At the words, Zoey felt sympathetic about herself.
"Zoey, I'll wait for you at my office on Monday!"
It was unlucky for Zoey to run into Professor Davis' home and steal his flowers.
Those roses planted by the professor in the yard were for his wife, who loved roses.
The professor and his wife had been affectionate towards each other for many years. As her favorite flower, roses were their 'children' for those who had no children.
However, she stole their "children."
Zoey blamed her own bad luck in the heart.
After running for a mile, they found that the professor gave up chasing them, they stopped, and Charlie was so nervous that his back was sweaty.
He turned to Zoey and asked, "He knows you?"
Gloom was written all over Zoey's face. "He is the professor of the law school and teaches me international law and civil law."
"Wait for you at the office on Monday. Zoey, good luck. "Charlie laughed.
He looked at the roses in his arms, many of which were lost in their escape. He had received many roses before, especially on Valentine's day when the roses sent by other women could fill a whole room. But he had dismissed them as trouble and had someone dispose of them.
However, at the thought of the roses in his arms and the passionate woman behind him, he thought that he would never forget his 28th birthday, even if he were too old to remember anything one day.
