Chapter 13 The First Kiss

His eyebrows were straight, his eyes as bright as stars, his nose towering, his lips sexy, his face manly, all of which were so attractive that Zoey felt lost in him.

She thought to herself, "How handsome my husband is."

Zoey jumped into his arms and asked, "Charlie, am I dreaming? If I wake up, you will deny it?"

Charlie placed his hands on her sides and hesitated for a moment before hugging her. With one hand lightly wrapped around her back, he stroked her hair compassionately with another one. Then he kissed the top of her head, comforting her gently.

"Zoey, it's not a dream."

He had made up his mind to try to love the good girl.

"I'm happy that it's not a dream."

When Zoey giggled in Charlie's arms, he felt as if a breeze blew through his mind. It seemed to Charlie that her crisp laughter was the most wonderful melody.

"Dear, so can you tell me where we have met before? What have I done to make you love me so much?" Faced with her confusing but sincere love, he was a bit worried.

"I won't tell you. You have to recall it by yourself." Zoey gave him a childish glance.

"Honey, can you give me a hint?" He laughed softly, his eyes reflecting her delicate face.

"No!"

Charlie held her face to kissed her lips, and Zoey returned his kiss. Staring at her dazzling eyes, he was suddenly somewhat aroused.

For fear of unexpected results, Charlie stopped and put on an indifferent face as usual.

However, Zoey made it hard for him to calm down.

"Can I sleep in your room tonight?" Zoey asked.

Charlie refused at once, "No!"

"But you promised to take me as your real wife?" Zoey asked sadly.

Charlie stroked her brow with his long index finger, saying, "Dear, I'm not too old to remember what I just said."

Zoey pouted and complained, "Charlie, you lied to me again!"

"No, it's just..." Charlie looked at Zoey and felt himself older, "I will share a bed with you when my legs get cured."

"And what if your leg cannot be cured?" Zoey was clear that it was an excuse.

Charlie smiled faintly and replied, "I will realize that for you."

His sweet words made Zoey dizzy with happiness.

"By then, I will give you a wedding, too. I want to have a wedding with you when I can stand up."

Charlie knew what she cared about.

He would give her whatever other women had.

He would also give her whatever other women did not have.

Because she was his wife!

"Actually, I don't care..." Zoey murmured shyly. Her face blushing, she felt so happy that she almost fainted.

"But, I care!"

"..."

"I want all women to be envious of my wife!"

Zoey beamed at him, saying, "I don't want people to be jealous of me. I want you to love me."

"I will."

"Charlie, I'll wait for you to fall in love with me, no matter how long it takes. I won't regret it either, even though when I am old.

I am an excellent student of the law department of A University who is beautiful and younger than you. My future is promising. It is your luck of a lifetime to get married to me."

Charlie was amused by the woman who touted herself in his arms.

Her father abandoned her, and her mother disliked her. Her grandmother, the only person who was nice to her in the world, had passed away. Nevertheless, she kept optimistic.
