Chapter 12 Love and Grievance (Part Two)
"If you regret it, we can get divorced. And I will compensate you." Charlie said slowly.
The trace of relief in his voice reminded Zoey once again of Charlie's eagerness to shake off her.
Her tears streaming down, she yelled at Charlie.
"Charlie, how can you hurt my heart at will because you know I love you? Wait, when you fall in love with me, I will dump you and make you cry in desperation."
Tears like pearls rolled down from Zoey's beautiful eyes, her nose red. At the sight of the pitiful and adorable look of Zoey, Charlie burst out laughing.
"Bastard, how can you laugh at me!" Zoey cursed indignantly.
"Sorry, I couldn't resist that." Charlie covered his lips to hide his smile.
"Walk away. I don't want to see you anymore!" Zoey shouted in exasperation.
"I'm disabled. I can't walk." Charlie replied calmly.
His words stopped Zoey's crying. She stared at the man, who seemed to be much taller and more dazzling than anyone else in her eyes, even though he was sitting in a wheelchair.
"Oh. It's time to massage your legs." Zoey suddenly remembered that.
When she wiped the tears, knelt, and lifted his trousers, Charlie took her hand, looked down at her, and asked in a serious voice.
"Aren't you angry with me? Why are you so nice to a bastard?"
"Because I'm shameless. Are you satisfied?"
Charlie covered her lips as if he did not want to hear Zoey curse herself again. He gently rubbed her delicate, wet lips with his thumb and asked softly.
"Do you really love me?"
Zoey glared at him and yelled, "Yes! I love you so much that I can put aside my dignity. You're satisfied now?"
"Even if I can't stand up for the rest of my life, you still love me?" He asked again.
"When I married you, you were already disabled, okay? Cut the crap. I have to review my homework."
Since the anger subsided, Zoey had not mentioned the divorce anymore. She remained unwilling to leave him from the bottom of the heart. Besides, Charlie had punished Olivia for her.
Zoey managed to convince herself that she should not divorce Charlie.
"Okay, I'll take you as my wife and try to love you, but I can't guarantee..."
"Really?"
Zoey hugged Charlie tightly. Her black eyes shined with excitement like the starry sky he saw in the Alps.
"You are a good girl. I will try to love you, but..."
Without waiting for Charlie to finish, Zoey wrapped her arms around his neck and lightly kissed him on the lips.
In a shy and nervous way, she gave him her first kiss.
Charlie looked at the girl who beamed with delight and thought to himself, "Although she often teases me sexually, in fact, she has little experience about those things.
"Now that you said you would try to love me, don't go back on your word. Otherwise, you are a liar!" She said childishly.
Charlie did not answer but lifted her chin and slightly lowered his head to kiss her delicate lips. As he gently bit her lips, Zoey opened her mouth in surprise. Their tongues started to twine around each other. Her eyes widened because she never knew such a way of kiss.
As Charlie led Zoey's tongue, their hearts were brought closer.
At the end of the long kiss, Zoey blushed scarlet.
"You are shy?" His voice was slightly husky with an indescribable charm.
"No!" She denied immediately.
"Why are you blushing?" He laughed.
