Chapter 11 Satisfied

Along the way, they saw groups of patrolling security guards in uniform.

Every spot of this place reflected the owner's status and wealth.

There were too many things for the eye to see. Rose tugged at the corner of James's clothes, "Honey, how wonderful would it be if Abby could marry into such an influential family!"

"Quiet!" James pulled back his clothes and reminded her of outsiders present through a wink.

Rose hurriedly covered her mouth.

James pushed the rim of his glasses up the bridge of his nose and folded his hands on his lap with a calm, elegant expression.

Deep down, he was no less excited than Rose.

His excitement was paramount. He had long heard that Kent's house was magnificent beyond imagination.

Now he felt like entering a world-class national forest park.

No!

A national park was not accurate enough. It was not inferior to a palace from feudal dynasties.

He was determined to let his eldest daughter, Abby, play up to the young master of the Kent Family!

Kelly was sort of useful, actually. As soon as she came here, she helped the Clark family establish a connection with the Kent Family!

Led by the maid, the couple walked through a long corridor lined with craved stone pillars and finally reached Chapman's parlor.

It was a quaint tea room.

"Mister, the guests are here."

The maid reported and gave way.

The person coming into view was an elegant middle-aged man. His temperament was refined, and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses was on the tall bridge of his nose. His dark hair was slicked back, unveiling his broad and smooth forehead. There were no signs of aging on his ruddy cheeks, and his well-tailored suit reflected his successful career.

Behind him, Rose was wearing a claret velvet dress. Her hair was neatly combed behind her head. A few curls drooping at her forehead added to her graceful temperament. Her well-preserved face wore light makeup, which set off her natural beauty rather than affected charm.

18 years ago, the very couple fed her mother a chronic poison.

It led to hemorrhage and her mother's death during delivery.

And the two murderers were still at large.

They took away the fortune protected by her grandpa with his life and led a well-off life without feeling guilty!

The thought of mother and grandfather sent a pang through Kelly's heart!

She dropped her eyes and trembled slightly. The hands hanging at her sides were clenched.

"Mr. Kent, I'm Kelly's father, James!"

James walked up to Chapman, extended his arm, and shook hands with him politely.

His gaze involuntarily landed on the girl standing at the side.

Her dark, shiny hair was combed high behind her head while a thick bang covered her bright forehead.

Her long curly eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings and landed on her eyelids, thus slightly covering her shiny eyes.

The tip of her nose was tall, and her little mouth was as tender as blooming begonia.

She stood there timidly, but that was enough to catch men's attention.

James was delighted with Kelly's appearance.

If there was a chance of connection through marriage, she probably could marry into a rich family.

"Kelly, my child, I'm sorry for your sufferings!"

Rose came up excitedly, but Kelly cowered and hid behind Chapman.

Embarrassment crept on Rose's and James's faces at the same time!

Chapman shielded Kelly.
