Chapter 7 Giggle
"No, no, it's not what I mean. I was just surprised that you gave me such a chance. I thought I would be fired for the incident! Unexpectedly..." Michelle hurriedly explained.
Thomas's dashing eyebrows furrowed. In fact, he was a man with a unique perception and had checked every piece of her works. The one accused of plagiarism fit her usual style, so he had faith in this new designer. "You mean you admit your practice of plagiarism?"
Michelle froze for a moment and immediately shook her hands to explain, "No, no, I swear I didn't!"
Then she felt helpless, "Forget it, if you believe that I practiced plagiarism, any of my explanations will be futile!"
Before Thomas could continue with the conversation, the office door was suddenly pushed open from outside.
In came a good-looking middle-aged woman. She looked elegant, refined, and like a noblewoman from the upper class.
Thomas's head buzzed when he saw Ivy Lowe. He barely enjoyed any peaceful days. Was she going to nag him about dating again?
The past six months had witnessed him going on countless dates, but he didn't really want to get married now. There was something else on his mind that he couldn't let go of.
Thomas stood up and looked cautiously at Ivy, "Mom, what brought you here?"
Mom? Not in her wildest dreams had Michelle expected the woman in her early forties to be Thomas's mother. Given their familiar appearances, they were presumed related by blood, but should the lady be in such a good shape?
Ivy walked to her son and snorted, "Sounds like you don't welcome me here!"
Thomas indeed thought that way but would not admit it whatsoever. After all, no one dared to randomly mess with Ivy, "Mom, anything I can help?"
"You tell me. You stood up every date I've arranged. This time, I found a girl excellent in every aspect. You must go and date her."
Thomas heard her out and felt his temples popping.
The conversation between the mother and son somehow amused Michelle.
Unexpectedly, the exalted CEO should go on blind dates to meet girls. She believed that his repulsion to blind dates should arise from the fact that he was unwilling to give up the girls outside. Last night he did such a shameless thing to her, from which she could see a spot of his philandering.
It was not hard to understand. All men were not fans of constraints. They kept as many women as they could. Rich men like him were more inclined to fool around.
Maybe Thomas believed in universal joy. Playing with one woman was boring, and playing with a bunch of women was real fun.
At a certain point, Michelle somehow laughed.
Her laughter was not loud but enough to interrupt the arguing mother and son.
Thomas knew that Michelle was laughing at him and felt embarrassed. In the meanwhile, a brilliant idea crossed his mind.
He would like to see if she could still laugh in a moment.
