Chapter 6 Forgetting Her?
Did he ask for her presence to settle the score? In that case, she would be fired for sure. Now she expected no help from the man and only hoped that he would not make things worse.
The secretary found Michelle's reaction strange. Was she amazed by the pretty face of their boss?
Looked like his perfect face never failed to impress women.
The secretary reached out and shook her hand before Michelle's eyes, "Miss Shaw, are you alright?"
"I'm fine." Only then did Michelle awkwardly snap out of a daze.
Thomas measured Michelle with his deep dark eyes. She looked familiar to him, but he couldn't remember where they met before.
Then it made sense. Since they were in the same company, they could run into each other.
"Miss Shaw, take a seat!" Thomas pointed to the chair across the desk.
Michelle nodded and walked over, only to find her legs numb. When she limped her way forward, she looked comical.
Thomas took a look at Michelle's legs, and his dashing brows furrowed, "Your legs..."
Was she physically challenged?
"My legs are fine and just a bit numb from the long standing." Michelle saw through Thomas's thoughts and smiled awkwardly.
"Please sit!" Thomas nodded and mused.
The secretary walked to Thomas with a stack of documents in her hands, "Boss, these files are for you to sign!"
"Put them down there!" Thomas nodded.
The secretary had to place the documents at the most conspicuous place and reminded him again, "Boss, please don't forget. These documents are urgent."
"Remind me again at 1 p.m."
"Yes, sir." Following her words, the secretary got out of the office.
Michelle carefully measured Thomas's change of expressions and feared his retaliation.
"Is there dirt on my face?" Thomas found her gaze strange and asked curiously.
Only then did Michelle awkwardly snap her gaze back and shake her head, "No, none!"
In her view, she'd better distract him so that he might not be able to remember her. The light was dim yesterday and he drank wine, so it was possible that he couldn't place her face. "Boss, may I know what the business is?"
Only then did Thomas get to the point, "There's a competition for new designers two months later, and I want you to join."
Michelle was stunned as she expected revenge from the man. To her surprise, he gave her a golden chance to prove her strength?
Was this a dream?
"Mr. Ruiz, may... I know why I'm given the opportunity? I suppose you know about my situation!"
Thomas remained calm, his mind unfathomable, "Since the company hired you, you should give full play to your value. Do you think you can get paid without working just because of your unfavorable situation?"
His remark was a bit harsh but totally acceptable to her.
She would rather defeat the other party with her strength than sit there and wait for the penalty like a loser. Even if she lost the lawsuit, it would not prove that she could only plagiarize. Besides, she didn't plagiarize at all.
