Chapter 4 What's Coming Will Come

In the meanwhile, she was not convinced to pay the compensation. It was her original design. Why was she falsely accused?

As soon as she arrived at the office, Lily Hopkins came over, "Michi... Michi, something major is happening."

For Michelle, nothing was more important than her lawsuit.

"What is it?" Michelle asked nonchalantly.

"Our CEO is looking for you and asking for your immediate presence in his office." Lily looked both excited and nervous.

Michelle was gripped by fear. Would she be fired for her practice of plagiarism?

She had been prepared for that but hadn't expected it to happen so soon.

If the Royal Thunder Group was going to fire her, it would mean the end of her career in the jewelry design circle because no companies would hire a suspected plagiarist like her.

"What's coming will come. We cannot avoid it. It may be... my last day!" Michelle hung her head.

Lily felt sad with her dejection.

She believed that Michelle would never steal others' works.

"Michi, stay positive, what if our CEO wants to help you?" Lily grabbed her hand and comforted her.

"Do you really think any boss would take on such a major lawsuit for a minor employee? I don't think any businessman is willing to run losing business." Michelle was not as optimistic as Lily.

Aware of her over-optimism, Lily knew not how to comfort Michelle, "What if our CEO is a good man? Doesn't everyone talk about his impartiality? He will not deny one's capability because of rumors! There may be a favorable turn, so don't lose hope!"

"That is for others, but I'm troubled by the lawsuit. If reparation was decided, it might be up to millions. Even if I plead to the judge, I'll still have to pay hundreds of thousands. You see, the other party is a big player of luxury goods and famous around the globe. How is it possible that the CEO will take the risk to shield me? Does he want to make enemies with the other party? Our boss is not stupid. How would he rack his brains for a minor designer like me?"

Lily saw her point, "Anyway, the matter should be fixed. What if the CEO is not that bad as we imagined?"

In fact, ever since the incident happened, Michelle had been restricted by the company, and all her works had been removed from the shelves.

She was aware that the company had been looking for a chance to fire her after the severe incident.

The human resources director had talked with her and implicitly urged her to resign.

But this was not her fault, and she was unwilling to admit defeat.

If she left the Royal Thunder Group, it would mean the end of her career in the design circle. She was not convinced. This was not her fault. Why should she accept such consequences? This was unfair.

Michelle heaved a deep sigh. What was coming would come. Avoidance was futile.

She put her backpack down on her seat and then went to the CEO's Office on the top floor.
