Chapter 3 Lead a Better Life

"Ah!"

Liz screamed in shock, her face turning even paler.

Greg yanked Liz's wrist, and the dagger stopped before his heart as the tip of the blade narrowly touched his shirt.

"Greg, what are you doing!"

Liz hurriedly withdrew her hand, threw the dagger to the floor, and then patted her chest with relief.

That was a close call. She almost made the same mistake.

If she stabbed Greg again, the rebirth would be pointless.

Greg stared at her movements with an indifferent expression.

"What's wrong? Isn't this what you wanted in the first place? Didn't you put the dagger there to stab me someday?"

Liz was stunned and kept her head lowered in silence for five seconds.

Just as Greg would sneer one more time, she snapped her head up and pulled Greg's neck.

With her nose placed against Greg's, Liz looked into his eyes and said in a grave tone of voice, "I wanted to, but now I've changed my mind."

"Huh?"

Greg frowned, wondering what trick the woman was playing.

Liz snorted softly, then let go of the man.

"I have decided that from now on, I'll try my best to lead a better life with you."

The air froze at her words.

After staring at the woman for a good while, Greg once again reached out to feel her forehead to make sure a fever or something did not muddle her.

"Are you, Liz?" Greg stared at the woman with a suspicious look in his eyes.

The woman nodded vigorously.

"Liz Tuccillo. And you're Greg Behrendt." She grinned.

Greg suddenly found the woman's grin familiar.

When they were freshmen in high school, the teacher asked them to introduce themselves one by one.

Liz grinned like this when she presented herself back then.

That was an adorable grin.

At Liz's self-introduction then, Greg lifted his head to look at her.

The girl's features were delicate, her almond-shaped eyes were crystal-clear, her neck was slender, and her collarbones were lovely.

From then on, he fell in love with her and could not extricate himself.

"But, you're not..."

Greg did not want to finish the rest of her sentence.

From high school to the present and from being a teenage girl to Greg's wife, the man that Liz, Greg's beloved woman, liked was always Chris.

Chris was the thorn in Greg's heart.

Liz instantly figured out what Greg was thinking by glancing at the painful look in his eyes.

Liz hurried to shake her head.

"No, no."

She grabbed Greg's hand with an earnest, urgent expression on her face.

"Greg, it was all because my ignorance blinded me that I let you, such a perfect and wonderful man, go and didn't cherish your affection but gave my heart to Chris.

I was wrong. I was utterly wrong.

Starting from today, we are a married couple, and you're my husband. I promise I'll try my best to lead a happy life with you."

These words were what Liz wanted to say before her death in the previous life. At that time, she regretted very much that she did not cherish her time with Greg and tossed both of their lives away.

She had never expected to be given a chance to speak them out in front of Greg. Liz herself was touched by her words, sniffing her nose and pursing her mouth to tamp down the urge to cry.

Greg's brows throbbed several times involuntarily.

He still could not believe it was Liz who was saying these words. Thus, he reached out to feel his own forehead.

"Perhaps I'm the one who got water in the head?"

There must be quite a bit of it. Otherwise, Greg would not have been hallucinating.

Haha!

Greg's self-talk amused Liz.

With her brows curled up in laughter, Liz bent one finger to flick the man's head tenderly.

"Greg, why are you so cute?"

She did not realize that he was such a cutie in the previous life.

Greg furrowed his brows with embarrassment, and his cheeks became somewhat reddish.

"Stop baffling yourself."

Liz beamed with joy and boldly stroked Greg's hair.

"No worries. You're not in over your head. It's that I've come to my senses to feel touched by your genuine affection for me."

"Liz!" Greg roared.
