Chapter 5 Get Drunk

"Christine, don't imagine that you could run away!" Darren clenched his fists with a vicious look.

Anyone who offended him would come to no good end!

If Christine dared to give the press his photos, he would get even with her mother on this!

Thinking this way, he texted Christine that she must give the photos to him before sunset tomorrow, or he would pay a "visit" to her mother Tina Taylor, the most important person to her.

Then, he walked gracefully down the busy street and soon disappeared.

...

Carpeted in gold and furnished in a Gothic way, the bar looked as splendid as a palace. On stepping inside, Christine was dazzled by a wide variety of famous liquors on the marine-blue glass shelves and the uniformed bartenders making all kinds of liquors like magicians.

"Welcome to the bar, madam."

"This is a bar?" She scratched her head in astonishment as she looked at the polite waiter. After observing the surroundings, she realized that it was a ritzy bar.

But this was precisely what she wanted – she would drink herself down here.

"Madam, what would you like to drink?" the waiter asked.

"I... I'd like something that can easily get me drunk. The stronger, the better." It was her first time entering a bar, and she seldom drank at ordinary times, so she didn't have much knowledge in this aspect. But wasn't it a good chance to vent all her sadness here?

"I see. Please wait for a moment." the waiter replied courteously and left.

One minute later, he brought a glass of KILLER to Christine, who was sitting alone in a corner.

The deafening noises and dim, colorful light filled the entire luxurious bar. As the expensive goblets of Lafite glowed with intertwining hues, people's hearts were gradually anesthetized; the confusion in their eyes was just like an erratic phantom. What a murky night! Christine took a sip of KILLER, and the next second, she spat it out. "Ahem... It's spicy!"

The liquor was biting her throat, making her cough with tears. "Why are you also bullying me?"

It was said when one was unlucky, even water would get stuck in his or her teeth. What a good metaphor for her current situation!

She was a failure in marriage and work and was even choked by liquor... It seemed everything was going against her in her life. She wiped away the liquid on her lips and burst out crying. "Darren Wright, you cheater! How could you hurt me like that? You're an asshole..."

While crying, she took a gulp of the liquor. Having tried it once, she felt better this time. Besides, she had the intention to get herself drunk, so she would drink it anyway...

"Ahem, ahem..." She coughed and cried madly. "I feel so bad..."

The pain Darren had brought to her was worse than a knife-stab.

"Darren Wright, you cheated on me, my mom, and all the residents in the suburbs. Do you have any conscience? You'll be punished one day!" She had another swig. Being a light drinker, she got drunk right away, though it was just a small glass of liquor...

"Ah... my stomach... and my head..." With alcohol stirring in her chest, She felt like vomiting. Holding her chest with a hand, she hurried for the toilet. But she was so dizzy that she couldn't tell the direction. Tottering and tumbling, she shouted, "Where's the toilet?"

In a daze, she walked upstairs, an area for VIP rooms. Giddy and light-headed, she staggered all the way forward.

"Madam, did you come to drink alone? Do you want me to accompany you? I'm also alone." In the corridor, an alcoholic approached this drunk woman and encircled her slender waist with a lustful intention.

"Let go of me. I don't know you." Her vague consciousness alerted her. With strength, she pushed his hand away.

"Don't be so angry. Aren't we here to have fun? Let me stay with you tonight." The shameless man put his hand on her waist again.
