Chapter 6 Snitching
Amy clenched her fingers into fists and deformed the pillow in her arms. Still, she managed to keep smiling.
"Sis, your teacher visited us today. That's quite embarrassing for Dad. If you go out as he isn't home, Dad will probably get mad when he finds out."
Sarah turned back to roll her eyes at Amy, replying, "It's none of your business, is it?"
With that, she ignored the awkward expression on Amy's face and went straight out.
Amy was so angry that she threw the pillow out of her hand, scolding, "You arrogant bitch!"
Sarah was obviously inferior to Amy in every way but always appeared insufferably haughty in front of the latter. How shameless Sarah was!
Witnessing Amy's fury, Monica said comfortingly, "Alright, Amy, ignore her. Her arrogance won't last long."
Amy called something to mind at her mother's words and lifted her head to exchange a smile with Monica. Then, both of them revealed a cunning look in their eyes.
"Miss Sarah, where do you want to go?"
After driving the vehicle out of the house, Ross asked Sarah.
Sarah answered, "Let's go to Streams Mall first."
When the car arrived at Streams Mall, Sarah told Ross to wait for her outside and entered the place alone.
Sarah soon walked out of the mall with a beautifully wrapped gift box in her arms, then asked Ross to take her back home.
As they passed by a barbershop, Sarah suddenly shouted, "Uncle Ross, pull up the car, please."
Ross stopped the vehicle by the road, and Sarah swiftly got out of it and directly headed towards the barbers.
When Sarah stepped out of the barbershop, her burgundy, afro hair became long, straight black hair hanging about her shoulders. Together with her delicate features, she looked confident.
Ross did not recognize Sarah till she opened the car door and got seated.
Tamping down the shock inside, Ross asked, "Where to go next?"
Sarah replied, "Let's go home!"
It was already quite late when Sarah left the house. So, when she got back home, it was getting dark.
As the car stopped at the Smith Family's house and Sarah reached the door, she heard a voice coming from inside.
"Dad, I told my sister not to go out so late because it would upset you. However, not only did she not follow my suggestion, but she also ungratefully asked me to stay out of her business."
It was Amy complaining, but her voice was tearful, just like she was suffering a great grievance and that Sarah was being ridiculous.
After Amy finished speaking, Monica immediately followed her to say, "Sarah had suffered a grievance earlier. Taking a walk outside is beneficial to her. So, don't blame her when she comes back."
Standing at the door and listening to the mother and daughter's show, Sarah sneered quietly.
Both Monica and Amy were really good at acting.
While Amy was playing the role of good daughter in front of Mike, Monica was peaking ill of Sarah under the guise of care.
"When did she go out?"
Mike asked in a slightly annoyed tone.
Amy answered, "Three o'clock in the afternoon."
While keeping her head lowered, Amy lifted her eyes to steal a glance at Mike's face.
Noticing that the man was wearing a gloomy expression, Amy felt delighted.
"Well, Sarah, let's see how long you can be arrogant. There is a hard lesson waiting for you at home." Amy thought to herself.
