Chapter 7 I Used to Be Such an Asshole

The corners of Amy's mouth quirked up slightly at the thought of Sarah's suffering a disaster.

"You guys, go bring Sarah back right now."

Mike instructed the bodyguards who were standing by.

Seeing that the snitches had finished their speeches, Sarah entered the room at the right moment.

"Hi, everyone." Sarah said with a feignedly surprised expression, "What are you guys talking about? It's quite lively, isn't it?"

After entering the house, Sarah sat down on the couch.

"Aww, sis, you're back!"

Hearing Sarah's voice, Amy lifted her head in surprise. The moment she saw Sarah, however, all her surprise turned into shock.

Not only Amy but also Monica and Mike stared at Sarah in disbelief.

What was going on?

Sarah had washed off her heavy makeup, and her burgundy, afro hair was dyed black and hanging about her shoulders.

Instead of her previous bizarre outfits, she was wearing a long aqua blue dress with a serene smile on her face.

Her temperament became elegant and graceful, a perfect match for her title as the top young lady in S City.

How was this possible?

While staring at Sarah's sudden change in appearance, Amy clenched her fists and did not feel pain even though her nails got into her palms.

Why did the bitch suddenly transform her style? What was wrong with her previous persona? What were the changes for?

"Sarah, you..."

Sarah's brand new image first shocked Mike, then pleasantly surprised him.

Looking into Mike's eyes, Sarah reached out to touch her own nose somewhat embarrassedly.

"Dad, I know I used to be an asshole. From today on, I will thoroughly reform myself and never upset you again."

Mike was moved to tears by Sarah's sudden growth.

"That's great, my good girl."

Monica became furious at the scene. For so many years, she worked hard to transform Sarah into a loser and a joke in town. How could she tolerate Sarah giving herself a makeover?

Then, Monica said with a smile, "Sarah, what are you talking about? How could you call yourself an asshole? No matter how you look like, you're always your Dad's dear daughter."

Sarah looked at Monica with a calm expression, answering, "Monica, what do you mean? Do you think I should maintain the same old, awful image?"

Monica's face stiffened. After cautiously glancing at Mike, she hurriedly explained, "No, that's not what I meant. I think it's fine for you to be who you are. There's no need to do things that make you unhappy, and you don't have to care about how the others see you."

Sarah answered with a sneer, "Exactly, I'm just being myself. You know what? I'm quite happy with this outfit. So, there is nothing for you to worry about indeed."

In Sarah's previous life, Monica coaxed her to be herself and not care about what other people thought of her, deliberately bringing her up to be an arrogant, domineering young lady of a wealthy and influential family.

In contrast, Amy, Monica's biological daughter, was cultivated into a knowledgeable, sensible, and humble young lady.

Whenever they attended a party, Sarah always made a fool of herself and caused trouble.

And on those occasions, Monica would stand up to defend Sarah on the surface. In fact, however, she was trying to put all the blame on Sarah without betraying any emotion.
