Chapter 13 I Want to Smell You
"What do you want?" Vance lowered his head and observed the girl before him.
Her eyes were big, black, and bright.
There was an inconspicuous trace of aggression and even wildness between her eyebrows, though she pretended to be meek and quiet.
"I want to smell you."
On her face was a totally sly smile.
Smell?
Was she serious about that?
While Vance was in shock, Tessa leaned over and sniffed deeply.
It was such a fresh scent; even her eyes could feel its coolness.
Vance's heart missed a beat, and his body became stiff. When he hesitated to push her away, she sat up straight again.
"What perfume do you use?"
Vance replied stiffly, "I don't use perfume."
"What about sachet or incense?"
He shook his head.
"What about shampoo, shower gel, or skincare products?"
He said through his teeth, "They're all fragrance-free."
Tessa felt puzzled. She took out her phone and texted Felix.
[T: He said it's not perfume.
Felix Legend: Could it be the scent of his body? You can smell it every time you approach him?
T: Yes.
Felix Legend: Check it when you have a headache again.]
When Tessa looked up, Vance had gone.
At this moment, Vance had got into his car with a sour look.
Michael could understand his feeling.
That girl not only flirted with this calm, composed man, but also played with her phone right after that!
"Mr. King, she's walking over."
Tessa appeared in front of them, but she then walked to a blond man.
"Go." Vance's voice was as cold as the ice dropping into a glass.
Just then, David was also standing next to Samuel's car.
Seeing Tessa, he was ready to leave.
"Mr. Johnson, I have to go now. You're welcome to visit my home anytime!"
In the car, Samuel said with a grin, "Boss, your Uncle David is not that stupid."
"What did he talk with you?"
"Something like 'who are you?' and 'may I cooperate with you?'."
Tessa waved her hand carelessly; there was something more important in her mind.
She had an irregular onset of the disease, which meant she had to take Vance with her if she wanted to check a few more times!
...
The next morning, Tessa, in the uniform of SD, went downstairs.
The same clothes on her looked more gorgeous than that on Ashley.
David, Louise, and Ashley pulled long faces with black-ringed eyes.
David gave a cough.
"Tessa, well, there's an accident. You can't go to SD."
He explained that Tessa's place had been taken away by the Wright's.
Selma sighed. "The Wright's? Alas, there's nothing we can do about it."
"I've tried my best. So, Tessa, you can only go to the vocational school now."
David said in a tone that couldn't be disobeyed.
But Tessa's sharp stare gave him a shock.
Did she know the letter of admission was false?
In the flash of an eye, Tessa had turned around to give Selma a smile as bright as the morning sun.
"Grandma, I'll go to school now."
David thumped on the table with fury. "She's my brother's good daughter, and I can't discipline her! Just ask him to take her away!"
Selma waved her hands hurriedly. She looked outside anxiously in worry that Tessa would hear it.
"Just leave it to her. She'll figure it out."
"What can she do? She doesn't know anything!"
"Just stay out of it!" Selma became angry.
