Chapter 5 Rehearse Is Necessary Before Acting

"Well... you're quite good at bandaging."

Looking at her well-bandaged hand, Rosalie broke the silence.

"I don't like hearing such a compliment from my fiancée."

Abel raised his head and met her eyes.

Was it her illusion? Why did she see the concern in his eyes?

"Actually, we don't need to be like this privately."

Somewhat awkward, she avoided his eyes again.

"Grandma is at the door."

Abel suddenly approached her and blew his breath on her neck. The atmosphere was a little delicate.

"Besides, not a man will hope his fiancée would need such professional bandaging."

Rosalie felt as if a stream of electricity was flowing through her body. Her heart missed a beat.

Did he care about her just because of his grandmother?

"Oh, you've met! You don't need my introduction, right?"

Discovered, Old Mrs. Williams pushed the door open and went into the ward directly. John, who had been leaning against the door, almost fell on his face.

"Grandma, thank you for sending me here..."

Rosalie still felt somewhat unnatural in front of the old lady.

"We're going to be family, so you don't need to say thank you. I'm just afraid that you're not used to this."

When Old Mrs. Williams said that, her eyebrows danced and her gaze switched from Abel and Rosalie.

Just then, Abel had put his hand softly around Rosalie's waist.

"Grandma, don't worry. I'll help my fiancée get used to this."

While he made a move on her openly, she could only cooperate with him with a smile.

At this moment, she thought of something that had happened on the plane. Had she made a trap for herself?

"Good, good... I'll be happy if you live a good life together. Oh yes, Rosalie, is this very important for you? A nurse said it dropped from your pocket when she helped you change clothes."

Old Mrs. Williams suddenly thought of something and took out a box from her handbag.

Rosalie took it over hurriedly. How could she forget such a precious thing?

"Thank you, grandma. This is really important for me."

Much joy was shown in her peaceful eyes.

That made Abel a little surprised.

In her hand was merely an ordinary stamp.

"It's good that you don't lose it. Where are your clothes? They're torn in several places and can be thrown away now. I've asked people to buy new ones for you. But... how did your clothes become like that?"

The old lady had been too excited to notice that in Rosalie's house.

When she saw how dirty and ragged Rosalie's clothes were, she felt more than worried.

"Thank you so much, grandma."

Rosalie's attention was still on the stamp.

But Abel's eyes were not as friendly as the two women. It seemed that Rosalie had indeed experienced something awful during these hours.

"Do you remember what I've told you? Don't stand ceremony with me!"

Seeing how elated Rosalie was, Old Mrs. William also beamed with joy.

It was always said, "Love me, love my dog." She could saw a shadow of her old friend from this young woman.

Stubborn, strong-willed, and unwilling to surrender... What adorable characters!

"I..."

Rosalie was rendered speechless. She didn't know what to say except for gratitude.

"Don't be nervous. I don't mean to embarrass you. Have a good rest. I should leave you two alone now."

After saying that, Old Mrs. Williams looked at them meaningfully and was ready to leave.

Rosalie sighed with relief subconsciously, because Abel's hand was still on her waist.

This was her first time being so intimate with a man.

"Let me walk you a bit."

When she was about to get off the bed, she felt a force on her waist that stopped her.

"Grandma has John's and Gavin's accompaniment. She doesn't need a patient to walk her."

His breath to her ear gave her a slight quiver. He was so close to her.

Wasn't he also a patient? Why did he have so much strength?!

"Yes, yes."

Old Mrs. Williams nodded, gave Abel a secret wink, and strode fast away.

Abel looked at Rosalie's reddened auricle and rounded earlobe and felt she was exceptionally lovely.

"Grandma hasn't gone."

The woman against his chest murmured, which deprived him of his last control.

Lowering his head, he bit her pink earlobe softly and then heard her exclamation.

"What are you doing?!"

When he looked up at her with interest, he found this little woman was staring at him alertly, with her back against the headboard.

"Don't you know rehearse is necessary before acting? If you respond this way in front of grandma..."

Rosalie was rendered wordless by his innocent and helpless look.

"I'll slowly get used to it. But now, you should help me investigate where this woman has gone and what she has done during the past three months."

She avoided his affectionate gaze and clicked Penny's photo on her phone. Then, she showed the screen to him right before his eyes.

"Is it her who hurt you?"

His tone became a little cold.

"It's my own business... You only need to investigate!"

Rosalie drew a line between her and Abel instinctively, and that made him somewhat displeased.

"Okay."

After that indifferent reply, the mattress on her right recovered its resilience, and the warmth also left her waist. Abel rose and turned his back to her.

"If you need any help, just call the nurse. Have a good rest."

Then, he left the ward without looking back.

It was as if nothing particular had happened.

It was just acting. Why did she have a sense of loss?

Such a thought gave her a great start.

"We're just taking what we need from each other."
