Chapter 6 Abuse of Power

Nelly stumbled under his sudden pull. To regain her footing, she held his strong arm subconsciously.

She glared at the man clinging to her, as his well-shaped lips moved and spat out some teasing words, "Where's my coffee? Don't be so anxious to throw yourself at me."

She was irritated. It was he who bothered her!

"Benjamin Longman, don't you feel ashamed?"

She struggled subconsciously, but he grasped her hands fast. There was a slight curve of his lips, but the smile didn't touch his eyes.

"Ashamed? I have the right to love my wife. What is there to be ashamed of?"

She stared at his rascally smiling face and sneered, "Wife? Humph! Benjamin Longman, please ask yourself when you have taken me as your wife!"

"Now!" Suddenly, he dragged her onto his laps. His cool lips brushed her cheek as he said, "Nelly Jones, it seems you've been very lonely sleeping alone these years. Tut-tut, you look just like a spinster now."

"You!" She gnashed her teeth and retorted after a while, "Mr. Longman! It's working time now! I don't provide such a service! Let go of me, or I'll be unkind to you!"

"You won't be cruel to me. If you hurt me, you have to be a widow then." His voice sounded confident.

She snorted. During these two years, they had spent only one night together. In a sense, she was no better than a widow.

Being a truly stubborn woman, she blurted out, "Be a widow? Humph, don't look down upon me. It's easy for me to remarry, isn't it?"

In the next second when he was shocked, she broke free from his hug and made a proud face.

Remarry? No way!

He repressed the impulse to turn over the table and used the trump card with a false smile. "If you step out of this door, I'll deduct all your salary this month."

Oh lord!

She glared at him. "Benjamin Longman, you're abusing your power!"

He was pleased to see her cheeks that puffed up like a globefish. "Power is right. Money trumps everything. Nelly, don't be so ignorant. Isn't your uncle's little baby still at school and waiting for the next month's keep?"

He was patient enough to talk to her. If she still went against him, he didn't mind turning the threat into reality.

"Little baby? Bard will be 18 after this month. If you don't know much about him, please don't say that way, okay?"

Benjamin had no interest in that boy at all. He asked coolly, "Where's my coffee?"

"I'll make it now!"

Suddenly, she looked around with a sly smile. "But Mr. Longman, except for my work, I always charge for extra service by the second. Are you sure your wallet can afford it?"

He snorted coldly, leaned back on the chair, and assumed a domineering and carefree look. "Shortsighted woman, do you have only these petty profits in your eyes? If you behave well today, I can not only give you my wallet but also write a check to you."

Her eyes suddenly lit up like two small bulbs.

"Mr. Longman, here is a contract that you need to go over in person."

Jessie had the right to go in and out of the boss's office freely and the door was not locked. When she unscrewed the knob, she wasn't aware of the trouble awaiting her.

But the next second, she felt her existence was totally unnecessary.

Just then, she saw Nelly was holding a cup of hot coffee in front of Benjamin. There was nothing wrong about the coffee, but the posture... On opening the door, she almost got drunk by the strong smell of coffee and hormone.

Although Benjamin still looked cool, Jessie caught a hardly imperceptible trace of gentleness and affection in his eyes. She had never seen such a side of him before.

The serious office was enlivened by the two's sweet interaction.

"Em, well... Mr. Longman, I-I'm sorry to disturb you..."

Hearing the noise, Nelly looked up naturally and even smiled at Jessie politely.

But Benjamin seemed really displeased by being bothered. "Get out!"

Holding a contract worth a few hundred million yuan, Jessie hurried off with regretful tears.
