Chapter 15 On-the-Spot Teaching

Jimmy told Brenda that he was here to check on her health, and because of that, Brenda decided not to keep him outside the door.

How could a three-year-old know so much?

She had completely lost to the little boy.

As there were few food ingredients in the fridge, Brenda decided to take Jimmy to the supermarket to select and purchase.

In fact, it was the first time for Jimmy, the prince of a wealthy and influential family, to visit a supermarket. He was so excited that Brenda and Ralph could barely control him.

The three of them had lunch outside. When they got back to Brenda's apartment, the woman had already felt too tired to move.

However, it was soon time for her to prepare dinner.

Brenda could not figure out why Jimmy was so willing to be together with her.

Besides, she could not figure out why she was willing to allow the little boy to get close to herself.

In fact, Brenda had spent almost half of her month's budget to make Jimmy a proper dinner.

She prepared three dishes, which were curry beef, stir-fried shrimps with fresh tomato, and boiled broccoli.

She was barely a good cook. However, it seemed that Jimmy enjoyed the dishes, and he got curry all over his face.

"Brenda, why don't you have some meat?"

"I don't like beef curry."

Brenda only had boiled broccoli for dinner.

It was because she would attend a reality show the next day. For fear that she would look puffy, she had decided not to take any salty food.

"But I don't think boiled broccoli is delicious. I prefer meat!" With food filled his mouth, the little boy looked like a cute hamster.

Brenda replied in a pitiful tone, "I like eating meat as well. But if I get fat, I won't look pretty."

"I am chubby, but all people say I am a pretty boy."

At this moment, Terry entered the room.

The tender woman and his smiling son appeared in his eyes.

All of a sudden, Terry thought that the scene before his eyes might be the best definition of happiness.

A trace of warmth flashed across his eyes.

"Daddy!" Jimmy noticed his father and asked excitedly, "Why are you here?"

At the little boy's question, Terry tilted his head to look at Brenda, asking in a grave tone of voice, "Why didn't you close the door?"

She thought she had!

Brenda then remembered that she might have forgotten to close the door as there were many bags in her hands when they returned. She did have kicked the door, but it seemed that that did not work.

Realizing that she had accidentally put Jimmy in danger, Brenda hurried to apologize to Terry, "Sorry. It won't happen again. Fortunately, the security situation within this neighborhood is not bad..."

Seeing his father's gloomy expression, Jimmy hurried to speak up for Brenda, "Sorry to have worried you, Daddy. Next time when Brenda and I, a pair of lonely man and woman, are in a room, we'll definitely lock the door."

"Oh boy," Feeling somewhat awkward, Brenda said to Jimmy, "You and I don't make a pair of lonely man and woman."

Jimmy was born in the US and had just returned to his father's side for half a year. He had a great interest in learning new expressions.

"What is a pair of lonely man and woman then?" Jimmy lifted his head to look at Terry. "Do you and Daddy make a pair of lonely man and woman?"

Brenda answered, "Maybe not..."

"That's right." Terry interrupted Brenda by saying, "If you walk out of this room now, Brenda and I will make a pair of lonely man and woman." His tone was as serious as he was at an academic seminar or something.

Brenda was speechless.

"Oh, I see. But I'm not leaving." Jimmy revealed a cunning smile, shaking his head proudly. "I know Daddy wants me to get out of this place to leave room for you and Brenda to make a pair of lonely man and woman."

At the little boy's words, Brenda rolled her eyes. Did the father and son have to play the language game at her place?

Also, staring at Terry, Brenda found that her apartment was too tiny to contain his strong aura.

The woman took her eyes off the man's chiseled contour of the face, asking cautiously, "Guess you're here to pick Jimmy up. Why don't you sit down for some food as well?"

Before Terry could say no, his son had actually walked over to him and dragged him to get seated by the table.
