Chapter 8 A Cat Named Rich
Due to her refusal to serve President Wood, Brenda got deprived of her role in the show. Therefore, she and the orange cat returned to her home.
Her life had been living an unstable life. The cat was both an accident and a surprise.
Unexpectedly, another surprise befell her.
Jimmy appeared at the door of Brenda's place.
Brenda looked at the stretched Bentley parked on the side of the road and then at Jimmy Lloyd, who was dressed like a chubby little gentleman.
"Jimmy? Why are you here?" asked the woman curiously.
The little boy answered, "Brenda, I miss you!"
Jimmy blinked his crystal-clear eyes, looking extraordinarily adorable.
Then, he put on an innocent expression, asking in a baby tone of voice, "Brenda, I want to see the kitten."
How could anyone say no to such a lovely little boy?
Involuntarily, Brenda opened the door to welcome him in.
Seeing Jimmy running happily to look for the cat, Brenda shouted at his back, "It's fine for you to play with the cat, but you cannot take it home."
At this moment, the fine gentleman, who had been standing next to the Bentley, walked up to Brenda.
"Nice to meet you, Miss Shaw. I am Ralph Hall, Mr. Lloyd's assistant. Jimmy has wanted to come to you over these days. I've got no other choice but to bring him here."
Brenda nodded her head in understanding.
It was Brenda and Jimmy who had found the kitten together. She got no reason to refuse the boy.
Brenda wanted to close the door. However, Ralph stood still in the doorway.
With no other option, she had to ask, "Ralph, would you like to come in as well?"
"Excuse me, then."
The corners of Brenda's mouth twitched.
In fact, Ralph did not want to enter the woman's place. However, Terry had told him not to take his eyes off Jimmy.
It was his luck that Brenda was a friendly woman, who asked him to help himself and then walked over to the little boy.
Jimmy was squatting next to the orange kittle, his chubby back looking like a mushroom.
His chubby hands were put inside the cat's fur, looming through the animal's moving back.
"Brenda, have you named the kitten yet?" asked Jimmy.
Brenda crouched down as well, answering in a casual, "Its name is Rich."
The name actually represented Brenda's wish to lead a better life.
"Rich?" Jimmy seemed dissatisfied with the name.
Brenda nodded.
Jimmy pouted and said in a slightly aggravated tone, "Is it okay that I'll continue calling it Kitty? I don't like the name Rich."
Brenda curled up her lips into a secretive smile, answering, "Nope. Rich is Rich. It's a nice one. You'll like it later."
At Brenda's words, Jimmy picked Rich up in his hands, muttering, "Hello, Rich. I'm Jimmy. How are you doing?"
Both the little boy and the kitten were incredibly adorable.
Brenda beamed with joy at the scene before her eyes. However, his smile suddenly froze.
If her child were still alive, this kind of scene would have become an essential part of her daily life.
In comparison with the woman's sensation of loss, Jimmy immersed himself in the happiness of reunion with his playmate.
He was unwilling to leave though it was getting dark outside.
With a serious look in his eyes, he announced, "I'll stay here tonight. Brenda, Jimmy, and Rich will love each other and never be apart."
Helplessly, Ralph had to take out his cell phone and go out to call his boss for instructions.
Brenda was sitting on the sofa with Jimmy in her arms, and they felt sleepy almost at the same time.
The woman lost track of time and dozed off.
All of a sudden, an extraordinarily tall figure appeared in the front of Brenda, and its shadow wrapped the woman completely.
Brenda immediately sobered up in shock.
She lifted her head to see a composed gorgeous face in the darkness.
