Chapter 7 Dad's Bonus
Before Terry could say anything, Jimmy, whose eyes were still being covered by Hank, replied in a vexed tone.
"No. I've saved the kitten. It's mine."
Brenda hurried to say, "I just want the cat. That's all. If you cannot fulfill your promise, just admit it."
How bold the woman had been to provoke Terry with those defiant words.
Brenda immediately found that the man's broad palms upon her waist had become hotter.
Terry then shotted a glance at the little boy.
Jimmy instantly realized what his father was going to say, tears welling up in his aggrieved eyes.
"Daddy, no. I want this kitten. You can't take it away from me..."
Jimmy was the little prince of the Lloyd Family, and his tears were more precious than golden beads.
At this moment, Hank whispered in Jimmy's ear, "Well done, babe. Cry the woman a river for the bonus of your father tonight."
In fact, his volume was loud enough for everyone else on the scene to hear.
At his words, Terry immediately cast a dangerous glance at him, saying, "Give the cat to her."
Hank fell speechless.
Feeling relieved, Brenda hurried to break herself free from the man's arms.
She rushed over to take the orange cat from the pitiful little boy's hands.
Before Terry could say anything else, Brenda ran out of the room as if her life depended on that.
After coming to his senses, Jimmy stomped aggrievedly and burst out into tears.
He liked that kitten a lot, and Brenda's taking her away from him was utterly devastating.
Holding the little boy in his arms, Hank turned to Terry, complaining, "That woman looks pretty. Why did you let her go? Now the cat is gone. Look at how distressed Jimmy is."
Terry lifted his eyes, commenting, "Poor eyesight."
"Poor eyesight, me?" said Hank defiantly, "Come on. I am literally the communal vibrator for those female celebrities. From my point of view, that woman might not be the best; she is at least one of the top. Wait a minute, why do I suddenly feel her face familiar?"
Terry's palms could still feel Brenda's touch. Secretively, he clenched them into fists.
He then took Jimmy from Hank's arms and ignored that nonsense.
Terry put on an emotionless expression as if nothing had happened earlier.
He said to his son in a soft voice, "No running around with Uncle Hank in the future."
Probably because of Terry's calmness and graveness, Jimmy gradually stopped crying and fell asleep in his father's arms.
On the other hand, after running out of the ward, Brenda actually came across an acquaintance in the corridor, and it was Eva, her agent.
"Brenda, I heard that you fainted due to heatstroke and came right over. Are you alright?" Eva put on a friendly expression on her face.
At the sight of Eva, Brenda naturally thought of that greasy obscene face of President Wood.
She felt nauseous.
Eva was Brenda's agent and the agent of some other entertainers.
Her attitude towards Brenda had always been lukewarm. In fact, it was her first time to express concern about Brenda's physical condition.
Brenda ignored Eva and hurried to get out of the hospital.
Behind Brenda, Eva looked at the ward, from which Brenda had just fled, and revealed a meaningful look in her eyes.
She had come here only because she heard that the boy Brenda had saved was actually the little prince of the Lloyd Global Group.
She had decided to take full advantage of this chance on behalf of Brenda.
While thinking, Eva walked over to the ward with a cunning expression on her face.
