Chapter 21 Obvious Flaws
Jealous of her? In fact, Christine had no idea what Sheldon was trying to do. It was possible he would soon abandon her after the temporary enthusiasm.
In Christine's eyes, if Sheldon indeed liked her, he should at least show respect for her preferences. However, he was even unwilling to let her have the soup she fancied the other evening.
Christine shook her head to get rid of the man and reminded herself that they had known each other for only several days.
Soon, it was time to make the decision on the brand ambassador, and it would be held in a hall about one hundred square meters. It should have been Christine's duty to decorate the place, however, Mona had got it ready.
Two minutes after Christine had arrived at the venue, Nate Law, her boss, showed up as well.
Although Rainbow was a new brand in the clothing industry, the company behind it was a rich one. Therefore, its selection of brand ambassador had drawn the attention of lots of celebrities.
Most of those celebrities were not very famous. Besides, due to Mona's unique taste, many of the candidates were just ordinary.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Law," Christine greeted Nate.
"Good afternoon, Christine. I have to say, the candidates in the final round are nothing great. You haven't been focusing on work recently, have you? I know, it's not easy for a young woman like you to shoulder all those duties of a brand. If you cannot handle them all, you can always ask the company to arrange some assistants for you. While you're away, it was Manager Cook who had done your share of work, and she has been doing great, hasn't she?"
Christine was slightly stunned. It was Mona who had confirmed the list of candidates, and she had told Nate that it was Christine. How shameless and scheming the woman was!
Christine pouted her mouth and did not defend herself. Instead, she said, "Mr. Law, I will adjust myself and will not let you down again."
It would be stupid to argue with one's boss. A smart woman like Christine would directly get rid of her opponents.
This was the universal rule of the world. People would only show sympathy for the hardships suffered from the successful. As for the losers, people would only see them as pathetic fools.
In addition to Nate, the president of the company, vice presidents and directors of different departments also appeared, taking seven to eight seats in total.
The staff had put the chairs, tables, fruit, refreshments, and so on in the position.
Rainbow had a vintage style, positioning itself as a middle to high-grade brand. Therefore, instruments like guqin, guzheng, pipa, and flute were prepared for the candidates.
Ten candidates would enter the venue one after another by drawing lots.
Christine was assigned a chair. She did not sit down but chose to stand there gracefully.
Seeing Christine standing, Mona, whose position was below Christine's, dared not get seated.
With her arms crossed, she stood next to Christine and said to the latter in a low voice, "Guess what the first candidate is going to show us?"
Knowing that Mona was waiting to laugh at her, Christine still maintained a calm expression. "You must know the answer. Why don't you just tell me?"
Mona chuckled and said nothing.
Soon, Jane asked the first candidate to come in.
Upon seeing the girl, Christine furrowed her brows. Though she had prepared herself, she was still shocked by the first candidate.
"Gosh. Why is the girl so fat? Director Smith, did you choose her?" Mona deliberately raised her volume.
Christine was acutely aware that Mona had raised her volume to make sure that Nate could hear her words. In fact, Christine could imagine the expression on Nate's face. However, it was Mona herself who had chosen these candidates!
The girl before their eyes was fat and actually had no intention to conceal her sturdy thighs or thick waist at all...
What's even more surprising was that she did not put on any talent show. After twirling around in front of everyone and making some disgusting poses, she bowed to indicate that her presentation was over.
