Chapter 9 A Good Plan
That night, in Kevin's bedroom, Lora leaned against the man's chest on the king-size bed.
Lora said in a soft voice, "Kevin, why don't you nod at Christine's demands? I mean, the divorce will please Mr. Collins. You may take the chance to ask him to put you in charge of another subsidiary. When you have enough power in hand, you will then be able to get anything you want."
"Though Christine is now living with Mr. Collins and has his child in her belly, she's only his mistress. How could a woman with her humble background become Mr. Collins's wife? Once she gives birth to the kid and becomes deformed, Mr. Collins will sure abandon her."
"When she's powerless, we'll get back all those assets that will be given to her for the divorce, and there will be nothing she can do about that. It's easy for a man with your abilities to take what is yours back, isn't it?"
At the woman's words, Kevin narrowed his eyes. After a moment, he cupped Lora's chin intimately, saying, "That's very thoughtful of you! She's pregnant with Mr. Collins' child, and she still wants to take my property? She is overreaching herself!"
"Christine, that bitch, is clueless that Mr. Collins is spoiling her only because of her face and the baby in her belly. One day, Mr. Collins will abandon her, and then..."
Kevin clenched his fists, furrowed his brows, and continued, "I won't let go of her so easily!"
While Lora and Kevin were drawing up a plan, it was dinner time in the Villa No. 16.
Christine was currently six weeks pregnant. Her pregnancy reaction was not severe. On the contrary, her appetite was excellent.
The Collins Family had an outstanding chef in the house. He made more than ten dishes for Christine and Sheldon, the only two diners. The woman simply made herself at home while eating.
While she was having some fruit after the meal, Sheldon leaned closer to her, saying, "Mrs. Jones has prepared a bedroom for you. I'll spend a while in the study. It's not far from your room. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to come to me."
Christine cast a glance at him, replying, "Well, I don't think I'll have any questions."
Sheldon raised his brows. After asking Mrs. Jones to take good care of Christine, he headed upstairs.
Christine then heaved a sigh of relief. Sheldon's presence was so strong that she could not ignore him as long as he was around. It was nice that he had left.
While she was cleaning her mouth with a napkin after finishing the fruit, Mr. Wilson, the butler, walked over to her.
"Miss Smith, may I say something to your now?"
Christine furrowed her brows slightly, thinking that she would probably have to live at this place. First of all, she could not go back to the Lee Family; secondly, even if she wanted to move out, Sheldon would forbid her to do that.
What Mr. Wilson was going to say was probably related to Sheldon.
"That's fine. Go ahead, please," replied Christine.
Mr. Wilson then invited her to sit in the living room and said in a respectful yet distant tone, "Now that you have moved into the house, I think it'd be better for you to know what Mr. Wilson's habits are."
"Mr. Collins is now in charge of the Collins Group. He leaves for work at 8:20 in the morning, and his return time in the evening is kind of flexible. Once he is home, we must keep the house absolutely quiet."
"Mr. Collins usually takes a nap on weekends on the second floor. During his nap, no one is allowed to move about on that floor. Even if one is walking on another floor, no footsteps cannot be heard."
The look in Mr. Wilson's eyes became obscure, but it quickly got back to normal. "Please remember to keep a distance of more than a meter from Mr. Collins. He doesn't like women getting too close to him. And he doesn't like women wearing strong perfume or skimpy clothes..."
