Chapter 17 What a Beauty
"Exactly." Selma nodded and lowered her voice, "My father won't tell you where Brother Noah is if you don't come with me."
"How do I know if you're telling the truth or not?" Carole looked straight at the other woman.
In her eyes, Selma had been a liar since she was a child. Naturally, she would not buy Selma's words easily.
However, Carole genuinely wanted to know what had happened to her brother. Every day for the past two years, she had prayed that her brother would emerge unharmed.
Rays of cunning light flashed across Selma's eyes.
She said with a smile, "Believe it or not. But, Brother Noah, alas..."
She deliberately did not finish her words and turned to leave.
Carole's temples were throbbing violently, and somehow, she decided to believe Selma this time.
"Tell me the time and location, I will be there on time."
"Midnight Palace. Eight o'clock, tonight."
Selma could not help but let out a smug smile.
She thought to herself, "Minnie's idea is working. Carole, let me see how you are going to get away with the disaster waiting for you tonight!"
After the classes in the afternoon, Rachel came to Carole and asked with concern, "Are you sure that you're going to Midnight Palace tonight?"
"Selma told me that they know where my brother is. I don't want to miss the news."
"Don't be silly! Even the police haven't found your brother's whereabouts, how can your uncle know? They're clearly lying to you!"
Carole said glumly, "I know Peter is trying to push me to that Mr. Lewis, but if I don't go, I'll regret it!"
"Then, be careful!"
"I will!" Carole clenched her fists.
At 8 p.m., Carole showed up at the Midnight Palace promptly.
It was Imperial City's largest entertainment venue, featuring a bar, a restaurant, a casino, and an auction house.
Carole was no stranger to this place, so it was difficult for her to find where Peter Watson was.
By the window of a room on the second floor, two men were looking outwards.
They were standing leisurely with glasses of red wine in their hands, giving off a relaxing vibe.
Upon noticing Carole, one of the men's hands shook so violently that the glass in his hand almost fell on the floor.
"Look, what a beauty! I swear she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen!"
Jamie Grant shot an indifferent glance at him and said bluntly, "Why are you being so excited? What does it matter to you even if she is very pretty?"
Dylan Hill snapped his fingers and said confidently, "Of course it matters to me. Don't forget that this is my territory!"
"No! She's too innocent for you! I do think she and Oscar are a good match!" Jamie shook his head, moving his eyes on the third man in the room, who was sitting on the couch.
Oscar did not even lift his eyes, resting his crossed legs on the coffee table and looking more relaxed than the other two men.
At the same time, there was an apparently inherent pride and standoffishness in his temperament.
In other words, he was giving off a celibate vibe.
Jamie sighed. "Oscar, life without a woman is boring. You should find a girl for yourself!"
"Stop your preaching. Oscar is waiting for his Carolyn!" With his brows raised, Dylan took out his cell phone to snap a few photos of Carole, who was downstairs.
He then posted the photos on his social media account with the text: What a beauty! She is my cup of tea.
Soon, some people commented below the post to ask who the beauty in the photos was.
They wondered if Dylan had found his Miss Right.
Jamie also saw Dylan's post and asked curiously,"Dylan, you're not really falling for that girl, are you?"
With his eyes narrowed, Dylan patted Jamie on the shoulder, saying, "Do you know what love at first sight is? Come with me to get her!"
At that moment, Carole knocked on the door to the room where Peter was.
