Chapter 15 Back to College
At Selma's words, the onlookers burst out laughing.
A few of Selma's friends looked Carole up and down and ridiculed, "Aren't you used to be a good student in our university? Why did you drop out of school two years ago? Did you go somewhere and give birth to a baby in secret?"
"Wow? Is that true?" Those who did not know Carole widened their eyes in surprise and gave a disdainful glance at her.
"What a morally corrupt woman!"
"Why has the college allowed such a bitch to return?"
"It must be that her sugar daddy has power and influence, so he forced the school to accept her."
......
The crowd of onlookers grew, and the discussion continued.
Some people even wanted to kick Carole out of the campus.
But Carole, who was under siege, had an indifferent expression throughout as if she had nothing to do with all the drama.
Only when the discussion subsided did she raise her brows standoffishly and said, "You guys are right, I did come back through personal connections. And, the person behind me is not someone you guys can mess with. So, you shouldn't make things difficult for me either! Otherwise, you'll get into trouble!"
After spending two years in society, Carole was more sophisticated and adaptable than ever before.
She did not give a damn about the uninitiated college students in front of her.
Neither did she care how other people thought of her. As long as she could complete her studies successfully, nothing else would matter to her.
Therefore, not only did she not defend herself, but she straightforwardly admitted that she had returned to campus through her connections!
Her expression was arrogant as if she was saying to those people, "If you can, go find a sponsor for yourself!"
What Selma disliked the most about Carole was her pride. In fact, Carole had been better than Selma in every way. Her family used to be richer, and she had better academic performance and a prettier look. She was even more capable of fighting than Selma.
But, so what? All of those things only existed in the past. Carole currently got nothing to be compared to Selma.
Selma walked over to Carole and proudly raised her head high at the latter. "You'd better get out of the school right now. Otherwise, I'll make you lose your reputation!"
"Oh, can you?" Carole gave Selma a sidelong glance and a mocking smile.
Then, resolutely and decisively, she pushed Selma away with a hand and stalked off with her head held high.
"You stop right there!"
Selma was furious and rushed up to tug Carole.
Unexpectedly, a hand grabbed Selma from her behind and yanked her back hard. She instantly fell to the ground.
Rachel clapped her hands and stepped over to Carole, spreading her arms to give the latter a warm hug. "Honey, welcome back! Are you done with the admissions process?"
Carole winked and replied cutely and coquettishly, "All done. From now on, you're officially one of my seniors in college now."
"I'll protect you!" Rachel smiled naughtily.
"That'll be awesome!"
At this moment, with the help of her friends, Selma had got up from the ground.
She had never been humiliated like this in front of everyone before!
Gritting her teeth furiously, she planned to rush over to Carole once again.
Minnie Allen held her back and whispered in her ear, "Didn't you say a Mr. Lewis likes this bitch a lot? How about..."
Minnie's voice grew lower and lower. And when she finished, Selma looked into her eyes and let out a laugh.
Selma thought to herself, "A good idea indeed! It will not only ruin Carole but also benefit Dad's business. Why not then?"
Therefore, wearing a smile, Selma left with her friends.
Seeing that one of the two parties had left, the bystanders realized that the show was over and then left one and another as well.
Staring at Selma's departing back, Rachel frowned and reminded Carole, "I think they're plotting something against you. You have to be especially careful!"
