Chapter 14 It Takes Times to Get a Woman
"Yes, sir!" replied Leo nervously.
But if President Morris cared so much about Miss Watson, why did not he keep her around?
In that way, he would be able to enjoy her company every day.
Leo still remembered the large bag of condoms Mr. Morris had brought back that day.
At the thought of the condoms, Leo could not help but smile.
Noticing the change in his assistant's expression, Oscar asked, "Why that nasty smile?"
Leo then realized that he had temporarily forgotten about his expression management.
He hurried to withdraw his smile and said, "The neighborhood around Miss Watson's rented place isn't safe. I heard there's a lot of thieves there."
"What do you mean?" Oscar narrowed his eyes at Leo.
Leo chuckled, answering, "I mean, why don't you ask Miss Watson to live with you? That's beneficial for fostering a relationship between you as well!"
"Idiot!" Oscar shook his head and said somewhat disdainfully, "It takes time to get a woman, do you understand?"
"I do not, sir." Leo was a little confused.
He was single and had never had a girlfriend, so naturally, he did not know the tricks of running a romantic relationship.
However, he trusted Mr. Morris.
To talk Miss Watson over, Mr. Morris even made up a story about paying a debt of gratitude, which should suffice for convincing her.
...
As soon as Carole returned to her apartment, she received a call from the hospital.
Her mother had been transferred to a VIP ward, and the hospital had brought in some of the country's most renowned specialists to give her the best treatment possible.
Carole was close to tears when she heard the news.
Her mother was finally saved again!
But undoubtedly, treatment like that must cost a lot.
Carole thought for a moment, then dialed Oscar's phone number.
Oscar did not answer the phone until it rang for a good while.
His voice was mellow, magnetic, and exceptionally pleasant to hear.
"What can I do for you?"
Carole said gratefully, "Mr. Morris, thank you for everything you've done for my mother. I'll pay back all the medical bills someday in the future."
"Is that why you've made the call?"
"Exactly."
"You're an ambitious woman! However, I don't think you can repay the money with your current abilities."
"I'll try!" Carole replied, gritting her teeth.
She knew that she would not be able to fulfill her promise in a short period as the cost of treatment was far beyond her reach.
But if she could become a famous, top fashion designer in the future, she would be able to realize the promise.
After taking a deep breath, Carole vowed, "Mr. Morris, thank you for allowing me to go back to school. I won't let you down. When I graduate, I will become the best designer in your company!"
"Great!" Oscar nodded in satisfaction.
A vague, stunning smile crossed his lips.
Actually, there was a personal reason for him to have done so.
He wanted to give himself more time as he still felt like he could find the petite figure in his memories.
He had not expected Carole to be so ambitious.
He decided that he should provide her with more help.
Early in the morning the next day, a driver waited for Carole downstairs and then took her to school.
Back on the familiar campus, Carole was emotional.
She had dropped out of college for two years. Thus, the class she used to belong to would soon graduate. After weighing the options, Carole decided to resume her studies from the junior year.
As Carole walked out of the administration building after finishing the paperwork, a beautiful figure rushed up to her.
With her arms crossed and her chin raised in arrogance, Selma said to Carole, "I hear you're coming back to school?"
Carole took two steps away from the other woman and replied coldly, "Does it matter to you?"
"Of course, it matters! You have no money. If you're getting back to your schooling, you sure will ask my father for money!"
"Sorry that you got it wrong this time! I won't ask your father for money!"
"So, where have you got the money?" Selma stared at Carole, rolled her eyes, then scoffed, and said, "Did you seduce some ugly, old sugar daddy from whom you got the funding?"
