Chapter 13 You Have Me on Your Back
Christine sneezed twice and wondered if someone spoke ill of her.
"you got a cold?"
"Ah...No."
Christine shook her head with her hand on her nose on hearing his words.
"Christine."
"Yes, I am here."
Her voice was as beautiful as nightingale's which almost made Franklin lose his self-control.
He used to regard himself as a man with discipline, a man who would do nothing even other women stood in front of him naked. Yet he felt hot and took a deep breath after hearing Christine's voice.
Franklin asked in a low voice, "How did you know Mason was one of my brothers?"
"I always know that. And I know a lot of about my hubby." Christine didn't take it seriously and smiled at the news on the phone.
#Martin Jones, the love child of the founder of The Jones Group, tried to get Mr. Brook's newly married wife by suicide to consolidate his family status#
There were pictures with Mosaic, but the records could prove also.
Christine scanned the comments of the netizens and found Martin now had a total bad name. As for Christine herself, some people admired her as well as spoke ill of her.
Christine wasn't angry at those hurting words. After all, she had done many ridiculous things before.
Franklin glanced at Christine and curved the corner of his mouth before that smile disappeared. Seeing that she was in a short skirt, Franklin drove the car suddenly towards the clothes store nearby.
And Christine was thrown to the car window due to the fast speed. Franklin pulled her out of the safety belt before she could make a response and took her to the shopping mall with his arm around her.
"Well, I thought we would go to buy shoes. Why we are here?"
Franklin didn't answer.
The manager hurried to welcome them because he had thought Franklin came here to inspect his store, "Boss, this lady..."
The manager gave her a secret glance and wondered who she was. He could understand Franklin hanging out with another girl. After all, no man could bear that his wife had an affair with others.
Franklin turned, blocked the manager's sight, and emphasized, "She is Mrs. Brook."
The manager held his breath for a moment and wanted to apologize for his previous assumption.
Franklin stopped the manager from those flattering words and pointed to several directions with an expressionless face, "Bring those conservative clothes to me."
On hearing the word "conservative", Christine tried hard not to laugh and didn't say anything.
However, she was surprised to see the haute couture that Franklin chose, and asked, "Hubby, must I wear those warm clothes in the summertime?"
"So, you refuse them?"
"No, I will take them. I will be happy to wear clothes my hubby chooses for me."
Franklin raised his right brow and took Christine by her hand to the fitting room.
He opened the door and let Christine come inside.
There were only two of them in that small fitting room.
It might be a waste of time if nothing happened between them.
Franklin looked down at her, seeing she was blushing and chuckling instead of changing her clothes. And he fixed his eyes on her.
His Adam's apple bobbed in his throat and his eyes were on her. He felt his heart skipped a beat when Christine raised her head and looked into his eyes.
He could not explain that feeling in words.
"Why you don't change the clothes? Are you waiting for me to serve you?" There was chaos hidden in his emotionless face. Frank stared at Christine, "Then I will be your obedient servant if you still say nothing."
And he put his hands on her body with strength. The next moment, her skirt was on the ground and her shirt was unbuttoned.
As he was taking off her shirt, he seemed to see her eyes smile. Then he closed his eyes, held her chin with on one hand, and kissed her smiling lips.
It was a wild kiss.
Franklin did it with strength as if he was punishing her.
And then he kissed her gently and outlined her lips with his tongue.
Christine lost herself in the kiss. She was just thinking he might kiss her, and he did.
She grabbed at the neck of his shirt so tightly that his shirt was unbuttoned, and his chest was uncovered.
After a long time, Franklin breathed deeply around her ear, covered her eyes with one hand, and held her waist with another, "When you turn well, try to look at me in this way and see if I will let you go easily?"
He patted her back and touched her lips which were swollen due to the kiss, and he smiled.
Franklin wondered if she was just like candy.
Because she was soft as well as sweet.
Finally, the two felt it hot inside the fitting room. Christine decided to finish it as quickly as possible so she put on the suits and persuaded Franklin that she could wear his coat when she felt cold.
They walked outside hand by hand. Christine was choosing shoes for Franklin with the money she got back.
Franklin fondled her head and was about to take her to the dinner.
Suddenly—
Thunder tore apart the sky and the light reflected in Christine's eye. Her breath became fast and deep, and she hugged Franklin tightly.
"Hubby."
Seeing her face turned to be pale, Frank hurried to take her into the car and hold her with his arms. And he caressed her back and asked, "Are you okay?"
"Oh, I am sorry, Frank, sorry..."
She was scared.
She was scared of those thundering days when she would be beaten in a dark room.
And she could never forget that thundering day when she had a dispute with Franklin again and almost killed him.
Franklin could understand her tears and "Sorry", but he was heartbroken for her.
"It's okay. I am here. Don't be afraid."
"You have me on your back and you could walk sideways if you like."
Christine burst in to laugh on hearing his words and murmured, "I am not a crab, why I like to walk sideways."
Franklin, "..."
Franklin would have created a cloudless sky if he could when he saw Christine was terrified of the thunder. After caressing her for a while, he drove back to the villa when she almost fell asleep.
Servants in the villa opened the gate door for them but didn't saw them get out of the car.
It rained heavily outside with thunders.
Christine sobbed in Franklin's arms while Franklin frowned and fondled her face.
RAT-TAT
Somebody knocked at the window of the car.
Christine woke up suddenly and looked at the source of the sound with fear. She hugged Franklin and hid in his arms.
Franklin rolled down the window and looked at the men in police uniform outside with great displeasure.
Those men outside didn't want to trouble themselves, but they had to fulfill their duty and did what they must do.
"Mr. Brook, you are accused of murder in the hospital by Martin Jones. Please come with us and cooperate with the investigation."
"Mr. Brook, he also said he would tell the facts to the newspaper and you may come and deal with it as soon as possible," The police euphemistically said all this as they didn't know the truth and had to investigate the fact.
Christine felt her heart tightened when she heard Franklin would be taken away by the police. She hugged Franklin's waist and cried, "It was none of his business. Martin is a bastard! He cheated on me and wanted to kill me! Frank was just trying to protect his wife!"
"If you must take anyone to prison, I will go with you!"
The only thought in Christine's mind at that moment was, Franklin couldn't go with them.
