Chapter 11 Sleeping on his shoulder
"Where did you get your niece? I've been your buddy for years. Why haven't I seen her before?" William put on a smile.
"She's Dorothy's daughter, Sophia." Tyrone introduced her to him precisely.
He didn't expect that unknowingly, Dorothy Biden's daughter has grown up. William smiled and changed the topic, "Sophia, Hello. I'm William. Tyrone's best buddy. If you need anything in the future, feel free to come to me and do not need to be shy."
Sophia smiled sweetly, "Hello Uncle White."
William: "........"
Did he look old?
How dare she call him uncle!
But in terms of seniority, it was not wrong for her to call him uncle.
William reluctantly accepted, "Alright, let's go. It's getting late. Let's go to dinner together. And Sophia could join us. I want to introduce you to a few new friends."
Sophia hadn't had time to decline.
Tyrone said firmly: "Let's go. Go over and say hello."
How dare Sophia say no?
She could only follow the two men.
The compartment was on the twenty-seventh floor of the hotel, and William pushed open the door of the compartment to enter. The handsome men and women sitting inside looked over, A gangly-looking man yelled, "William, Tyrone, what took you guys so long. We all... Yo, who is this? A little beauty? Which one of you brought her over?"
Sophia swept a glance and saw the three men and three women on the leather sofa staring at her with a look of amusement.
"My niece, Sophia."
After the introduction, Tyrone pulled Sophia into the corner and said, "You sit here."
William smiled and walked in, "This is Dorothy's daughter. She came to the press conference to be a ritual girl without telling us today. We caught her, grabbed her, and introduced her to you guys."
Saying that, he introduced the people present one by one to Sophia.
It was a little difficult for Sophia to recognize people she met for the first time regularly. But everyone in this room had excellent features, making it not hard to remember them.
She could recognize most of them now.
A few people were greeting with Sophia, and the door of the room suddenly opened from the outside. A woman whose hair was dyed burgundy stepped in, and she wore a black strapless skirt. The woman entered, and her gaze fell on Sophia. Displeasure flashed in her eyes, then, with a smile, she asked, "Who is this one?"
"I am Sophia. He's my uncle."
By instinct, Sophia sensed the woman's hostility and immediately cleared the relationship with Tyrone.
The woman smiled slightly, "Hello, I'm Miranda."
"Hello."
The woman finished her sentence and sat next to Tyrone. Her voice was whiny enough to drip water, "Tyrone, where have you been recently? I've been looking everywhere for you but I did not find you."
Tyrone's brows furrowed a little and his voice was icy as he said, "Am I obligated to report my whereabouts to you?"
His words could be regarded as rude.
The woman's face suddenly became embarrassed.
Sophia thought that she would be so angry and she would leave.
But unexpectedly, the woman endured her anger silently and continued to joke, "I'm worried about you. Hey, let's all stop sitting still and start singing. I'll pay for all the expenses today, as a celebration of the success of William's new product launch."
The atmosphere in the box was fired up in a short while.
Sophia sat obediently in the corner drinking juice.
Miranda sat beside her, "Are you Dorothy's daughter?"
"Yes."
Sophia nodded.
An obscure emotion flashed in Miranda's eyes, "I've seen her before. It's a pity that she's gone at a young age. So a woman needs to recognize a man and marry him, otherwise..."
Before the words were finished, Tyrone's slender fingers pressed the wine glass on the table, "Miranda, are you deliberately trying to annoy me today? "
In the dim room, light and shadows intermingled.
His sunken eyes were like sharp swords, piercing straight into one's heart.
Miranda clenched her right hand tightly, not daring to say more.
The rest of the people, sensing that the atmosphere was not right, looked at each other. And finally, it was William who spoke up, pulling Tyrone to continue drinking.
Sophia was bored as she nestled on the sofa thinking about the past.
Gradually, she felt so sleepy.
In a daze, she leaned against a hard place. She comfortably hummed low and fell asleep.
