Chapter 3 The Uncle

After school the next day, Jack did not go home, but went directly to the bar opened by his elder brother. The name of this bar was Dragon and Tiger Bar, which was located in Yellow River Road, City D. It was the most prosperous new business district in City D.

Leon was also very lucky. He chose to buy a store in Yellow River Road to open a bar not because he had a long-term strategic vision, but because this was not a commercial area at that time, so the store here was relatively cheap.

However, in the recent few years, the rapid development of the city had kept expanding and the previous business circle was saturated. Therefore, new business circles were urgently needed to fill in. This area of Yellow River Road had gradually sprung up and several large shopping malls had been newly built. This area had become a new large business circle in City D. Its momentum had even shadowed the old business circle.

The plaque of Dragon and Tiger Bar was red characters with the black background, The bar was large, magnificent, and beautiful. It was divided into upper and lower layers. The first floor was a public area, and the second floor was a private room, office area, warehouse, etc.

It was already evening and the bar was already full of guests, so the waiters were constantly busy inside.

Of course, the staffs of the bar all know Jack. As the Boss's younger brother, he was also a Boss here.

Seeing him, all the waiters who passed by greeted him one after another. He walked to the bar and put his schoolbag on it. The bartender inside took it with tacit understanding, put it in the bar, and then smiled, "Jack, are you looking for your elder brother?"

Jack looked up and asked, "Where is my elder brother?"

"Upstairs." The bartender said with mirth, "He seems to be discussing the contract with Emma London."

"Oh." Jack nodded his head.

He was not unfamiliar with what the bartender said about Emma. She was the resident singer in the bar. She was not very old and was in her twenties, not more than a few years older than Jack. She was very beautiful, dressed in fashion, and had a good voice by nature. Jack was really infatuated with her for a while when he first saw her. Of course, it was just his ignorant infatuation as a teenager and then it went away.

He looked back and his eyes naturally looked at the most remote corner of the bar. His eyes suddenly became brightened, and he said secretly that the man was indeed here!

He was still sitting in the old seat, still only ordering a bottle of beer and still dressed in a straight black suit with a white shirt inside. He was still engrossed in fiddling with his computer.

It seemed that an invisible wall had been erected around him, completely isolating him from the outside world.

Jack looked at it for a while before coming to his senses, then said to the bartender, "My elder brother is talking about business, so I won't go up. I'll sit down for a while."

The bartender nodded and replied. When he was about to speak, another guest sat down and ordered some wine. The bartender immediately welcomed him.

Jack left the bar counter and walked to the position in the corner. After coming to the man's side, he sat directly opposite the man and said with a smile on his face, "Uncle."

The man did not look up and his eyes were still rested on the screen of the notebook computer. He did not look at him, but said, "It seems that the injury on your face has healed, so it seems that the young people are recovering quickly."

At the thought of his discomfiture last night, Jack felt fear after the event and embarrassed. He said solemnly, "I... I have come to express my thanks to you..."

"Haven't you thanked me already..." The man still didn't look up and asked absently, "Do you have anything else?"

What the man said directly pointed out Jack's inner thoughts. His face turned red and he was silent for a while. He took a deep breath and said slowly, "I take you as my teacher."

"Ahem..." The man seemed to be choked by his saliva and coughed. His head was finally lifted and he looked at Jack sitting opposite. After a while, he couldn't help laughing, shaking his head and saying, "You want to learn from teachers, what era are you at now? Do we have to set up a censer or something?"

Jack felt very embarrassed and his face became redder. If there was a seam on the ground at this time, he would go in without hesitation.

"I... I just want to avenge my friend."

The man said cheerfully, "You can't stand being laughed at for a few words. Why do you want to talk about revenge?"

Jack felt a little excited and the embarrassment on his face was immediately disappeared. He asked solemnly, "I hope uncle can teach me how to do it."

The man looked at him intently for a long time. He blinked his eyes, picked up a cigarette, lit it, and smoked it slowly for two times. He then said, "There are three ways to kill a person."

"Which three ways?" Jack widened his eyes, staring at the man while his body was leaning forward.

"The first way is what you had used and it was directly to kill somebody desperately, and this is also the most stupid way. Even if you succeed, you cannot escape. The best result is that you will go to jail. If the consequences are serious, you will be shot." He raised his hand to make a gesture of shooting and continued, "If you don't succeed, you should realize the consequences. Therefore, no matter whether it is successful or not, it will have no good results."

"What about the second way?"

"Contract killing." The man smiled and said, "Spend some money to let others do things you can't do. Of course, this is also risky and it is hard to say whether it will succeed. There is also a risk that the perpetrators will confess after being caught. So, as a result, it is still very difficult for you to keep yourself out of it."

With this, Jack was speechless. He swallowed hard and asked confusedly, "Then... The third way is..."

The man said, "The third way is very clever and you also need to be patient to wait."

"Waiting for what?"

"Wait for an opportunity."

"What opportunity?" Jack asked in confusion.

"An opportunity to be fully confident of success and to stay out of the way."

Jack bowed his head thoughtfully and murmured, "How could there be such an opportunity? If so, how long will I have to wait?"

"Ah." The man laughed, "It depends on whether you want to be a hunter or prey. If you want to be a hunter, or want to be a good hunter, then you need to have a heart that can withstand anxiety. In the forest, a hunter sometimes has to wait for days or even tens of days to catch his prey. In society, if a hunter wants to succeed, he often has to wait for several years or even more than ten years. If you don't have such patience, then you shouldn't mention revenge for your friends in the future. Because, you will not succeed."

"Now, many people lament that they were born at a bad time and did not catch up with good opportunities. In fact, opportunities do not fall from the sky by chance, but come through patience. A few people are already ready, waiting for the opportunity to come. But most people just live in a muddle. Even if the opportunity comes before their eyes, they cannot grasp it. In the end, it was just wasted. After that, these people are complaining about their bad times."

Jack listened carefully. Suddenly, he felt enlightened. He felt from the bottom of his heart that what the man said was reasonable. No one had ever said such a thing to him before.

After a while, he could not help but ask, "Uncle, what do you do?"

The man grinned. However, his smile this time made Jack feel very warm, instead of the fake smile like a mask. He said, "Do you know the middleman?"

"Middleman?"

"That's the kind of person who acts as a pimp." The man shrugged and said, "I should be a retired middleman now."

"I don't know what middlemen do, but I think what you said was very reasonable. I still want to take you as my teacher."

Jack was now firmer in his thoughts. In the unseen world, he just had a feeling that he could learn something from this uncle that would benefit him all his life.

This was also the case.

This uncle really changed Jack's outlook on life and became the most important first teacher in his life. Later, many people said that he was a cunning opportunist, and the reason that he did this was that he was influenced by this uncle.

This man looked at Jack and asked with a smile, "I can't tell you my name, because it is not good for you, and I can't let you have any involvement with me. It is not good for you. However, I can teach you some skills to keep fit."

It didn't matter to Jack whether he took him as his student or not. The important thing was that he was willing to teach himself something. Hearing what the uncle said, Jack felt extremely happy, nodding and asking, "What are you going to teach me?"

"Are you in high school now?"

"Yes."

"Well." Uncle nodded and asked, "How far is your home from school?"

Jack was stunned by this question. He did not understand it after thinking for a long time. He scratched his hair and said, "I only know that it takes six bus stops."

"Six bus stops... One-stop is almost 1 to 1.5 kilometers long, and the stations in the city are almost within one kilometer, which is equivalent to about five kilometers."

This man calculated for a moment and said to Jack, "After that, you will not take the bus to school and leave the school. You will run to school and leave school instead. No matter what you want to do in the future, it is always the most important to have a strong and healthy body."

Jack nodded while listening and took down his words firmly. After waiting for a while, he saw that this man didn't continue to talk, so he asked, "Uncle, what then?"

"Then?" The man smiled with his head high and said, "You can stick to this one I said first, and then you can go ahead."

"This is very simple..."

"Simple? When you do it for a day or two, you will feel very simple, but it is very difficult to persist." The man looked at his watch, picked up the cup, and drank the beer in one gulp. He immediately stood up and said, "Fine, I'm leaving now. See you later."

Jack stood up with him and asked quickly, "Can't I really know your name?"

Looking at his expectant eyes, the man seemed to have a moment's trance. His mouth was moved and at last, he smiled and said, "You'd better not know about it." With this, he stopped and stepped out.
