Chapter 49 - Amal

Amal looked at his watch as he flipped his fingers on the counter of the bar. He breathed heavily and took a gulp of his beer. 'He's late and I have no time sitting here, Sham's home alone.' He thought then sighed. His eyes were fixed on the entrance. The thought of having left Sham alone and promised to be back in less than an hour made him feel so impatient. Marcus kept looking at him as he went on serving his customers. He knew Amal too good to be true and he knew his mind was fixed on Sham. Just one woman made his character change something that Sophia never did. "He'll be here in a few minutes maybe he's caught up by some issues." Marcus said trying to ease him up. "He's late and Sham is waiting. I left her home alone and she might get worried or stressed out and you know she's pregnant....."

"Dude since when did you become impatient?" Marcus said moving closer to him. Amal didn't answer instead he gulped his beer and fixed his eyes back to the entrance. He knew Sham had changed him and he loved it. He loved how now he had something to worry about, to think about and that made him feel normal. "Ben has always been late when you want to meet him and you know that besides he's only late for 20 minutes now and you are breathing as if he's been late for an hour." Marcus said then smiled. Amal stared at him and held his head with his both hands placed on the counter. He then rubbed his hair and breathed then gulped his beer. "Do you think I'm becoming so much paranoid?" Amal asked. Marcus laughed then sighed. "No you are just normal, when Olivia was pregnant with our firstborn, I was always worried about her and if it was possible I wanted to always fix my eyes on her and check if she's fine. So dude you are not paranoid you are just normal."

Amal smiled then looked back to the entrance and finally saw Ben walking towards them. "You are fucking late men." Amal said trying to release his anger in a polite way. "I know and I'm sorry, my wife came back and she's a pain in the ass." Ben said as he sat down and took Amal's beer and sipped. "Whisky dude." He said placing his order. "So what's the problem?" Ben asked as he turned to face Amal. Marcus served him whisky and he sipped his eyes still fixed on Amal. "Well, I called you because I needed to know something important." Amal said looking at him. Marcus stood there looking at both of them. "Is it true that you don't want me and Sham to be together."

"What, why?" Ben said placing his bottle down and one of his eyebrows rose and Amal was getting confused. "Jecinta told me." Amal said turning his whole body."

"She has the nerve..." Ben said then sighed. "Of course I'm not happy Amal, that woman only wants to use you just like Sophia did. Amal you haven't learnt your lesson women are women all they do is take advantage of anything that comes from a man..."

"Enough!" Amal was angry and Marcus knew he had to do something or else they will both fight. "That woman hasy kid and she tries her best and so far she is the best woman I've ever met. She's amazing." Amal said in a less angry voice. He then gulped his beer and added. "I love her."

"You don't know her Amal, she has worked for me for some years now and I know her better than you do. Okay ask yourself why she hasn't found the right man by now why are all her fiances leave her. I am warning you in advance leave that woman alone."

Amal rose up took out his wallet paid for the beer then walked out without talking and went home heavily burdened.
