Chapter 4 When Someone Has No Shame, He/She is Invincible

"What a prick! She lived a wealthy childhood because of her prostitute mother. Now, she can ride the BMW because she is prostituting herself. Both her mother and she are sluts. Damn!" Lily was annoyed as to curse at the BMW which was speeding away.

"Anger hurts your health. It's not worth it to be angry with that kind of person." Sophia smiled slightly.

"It has been more than a decade. My unfaithful father has broken my heart, which turns my heart into a stone. Several words can't hurt my feelings." Sophia thought.

Lily who knew about Sophia's bitterness could only pat her shoulder as a comfort gesture.

Half a month later.

One night, Sophia was exhausted when she got home.

"Sophia, you're back. Time to eat!" Mary White, Sophia's mother, had already taken hot food onto the table.

"Recently, I'm tortured at the Human Resources Department in the morning and do my own work in the afternoon. In the past, I could handle this kind of work intensity. But lately, I always feel so tired that I can't get enough sleep. I can sense that something is off, yet I can't tell what it is." Sophia thought.

"Particularly, I have trouble tasting the food." Sophia thought. She was eating the rice, as if she was chewing wax.

At the time, Mary suddenly said, "Sophia, I ran into your aunt today. She said that your grandfather was dying. Go to hospital to visit him."

"I don't want to." "My Mum begged my Dad not to divorce her. As long as he maintained a family for her and the children, she could ignore his affair with the woman." Sophia thought.

"Yet, my bastard Dad was unsatisfied with my Mum's term. He not only divorced my Mum, but also took all the money. My Mum, my sister and I suffered for these years and nobody knew our difficulties..." Sophia thought.

"If possible, I don't want to have any connection with my bastard Dad's family." Sophia thought.

"Moreover, my grandfather is a retired veteran, whose pension is very high. In the past, when I went to visit my grandfather, my unfaithful Dad and his mistress would hit me and curse me, accusing me of coveting my grandfather's money." Sophia thought.

"Your grandfather is almost ninety years old. He will die any time. You go to visit him this time. I'm no longer your Dad's wife. It's inappropriate for me to visit your grandfather." Mother Green earnestly advised Sophia.

"...I will go at the weekend." Sophia said reluctantly.

"Fine." Mary nodded while smiling.

At the weekend, Sophia went to the hospital where her grandfather was staying.

Sophia's grandfather joined the army in his youth and participated in the War of Resistance Against Japan. Therefore, he was treated as the retired veteran and checked into a single room at the hospital.

The moment Sophia walked into the ward, she saw her uncle and aunt wiping their tears while facing her grandfather in the bed.

"Sophia is here!" Sophia's aunt saw her first and stood up to walk toward her.

"How is grandfather doing?" Sophia looked at the gaunt old man in the bed, feeling sad.

"The hospital has issued a notice of critical condition. He may die in a day or two." Sophia's uncle answered depressingly.

Hearing this news, Sophia's eyes turned red, and then she said, "Uncle, you take care of grandfather for years. You have done your best."

"My grandfather has been in bed for more than a decade. It is my uncle and aunt who take care of him all these years." Sophia thought.

"I..." Uncle was about to say something.

At that time, a noise came from outside.

Then, Sophia's unfaithful Dad, his mistress and his step daughter Penny all came in.

The mistress Lettice Fox, whose name meant "slut" in Chinese, was Penny's mother. Although she was an old slut now, her neckline was extremely low. Besides, the heavy makeup couldn't cover up the wrinkles on her face.

The step daughter Penny also wore heavy makeup, and Sophia had never seen her true face.

Lettice came in and started yelling, "Hey! Old man, why are you so ill as to be dying? You should have left a will to state your funeral arrangements to avoid ambiguity between your sons..."
