Chapter 7 Lose Face
She pursed her lips and stood up, ready to go to the bathroom.
Having just turned around, she bumped against someone, and with a crash, the resume in her arms fell to the ground.
"Sorry."
She crouched down and was just about to pick up here resume when a white hand had reached out earlier than hers.
The owner of the hand swept her resume, and a contemptuous snort came from her mouth with a hint of surprise, "Bella, I cannot believe it is you. It turns out that, you've pursued advanced "studies" in that kind of little place in the past two years when we didn't see each other?"
Bella was stunned and subconsciously looked up.
"Sherry Stock!"
She was Bella's classmate when she was a student at the Northern Film Academy.
Sherry stood up straight. Her big eyes wearing brightly colored eye shadow, she looked Bella up and down. She gazed at Bella's simple yet cheap dress for a few seconds, her red lips curved a disdainful smile.
"How did you end up getting into such a bad situation after two years? By the way, isn't your boyfriend wealthy? Or have you already broken up?"
In an instant, Bella's pretty face turned pale and her eyes were filled with pain which disappeared soon.
"It is none of your business." Bella immediately drew back her resume from Sherry's hand, coldly said to Sherry, turned around, and was ready to leave.
"I remember the year you first arrived at Northern Film Academy, the mentor said you were the most promising student she had ever met, but nobody would expect that you inexplicably transferred to another school later. I have never expected to meet you again. Are you here for the audition as well? To be frank, how come you have the guts to compete with me as a loser without acting skills, qualifications and high education?"
Sherry was confident enough to say those words.
She was in a commercial in her junior year and became a hit.
Later on, she signed a few film contracts one by one and made a name for herself in show business.
"Compete with you?"
An ironic smile curved Bella's lips as Sherry's repeated provocations made her not have good manners anymore.
"Sherry, I cannot believe that you are competing for such a small role so ungracefully. It seems like you're not that famous."
"A small role?"
Sherry looked like she had heard a joke and her eyes were filled the contempt.
"You really have been in a little place for too long, so you do not have up-to-date information. Blind Heart is a big film. If Director Chandler did not insist on selecting the actress in person, do you think you would have had the chance to step into the gate of Sky Entertainment Group? That's Ridiculous!"
"......."
Bella was stunned and wimped out.
She had not practiced acting in the past two years, so she was not even sure if she could act again.
She met Sherry's arrogant gaze and smiled blandly, "In that case, you take your chances, I'll go first."
Hearing that, Sherry felt depressed.
She had hated Bella so much since she knew Bella. She hated Bella's innocent and beautiful face, rich and handsome boyfriend, and the compliments Bella received from their classmates and teachers!
"Get out! Even if you stay, you'll be eliminated. Save yourself the embarrassment!"
Bella's fists clenched, her pretty face looked very cold.
She's never been accustomed to suffering losses.
However, she had sense. It wouldn't do her any good to make a scene.
The quarrel between the two attracted the attention of the rest people in the hall who stared at them soon.
No one noticed that a slender young man was lazily leaning against the railing by the top of the stairs on the second floor. His liquid eyes stared at the downstairs with interest with a playful smile.
"Young Master." Carl, who was standing beside him, raised his eyebrows. "Isn't this Miss Jones who paid you service charge?"
"It's her." Shawn nodded in a cheerful tone. Although he was not near them, he could still hear Sherry disdained Bella, so his eyes darkened. He beckoned Carl over before lowering his voice and saying a few words.
"Understood?"
"Sure."
Carl bowed and nodded respectfully like a gentleman.
Shawn looked at Bella downstairs who did not do tit for tat as she was when meeting him. She appeared innocent and beautiful, but she was tough and stubborn.
"Bella......."
He raised one eyebrow, smiling wildly.
"Now it is you who bumped into me."
Bella was completely unaware that she was being targeted.
She had no intention of tangling with Sherry, and glanced at her with a cool expression, preparing to leave under Sherry's proud and arrogant gaze.
Unexpectedly, before she took a step to leave, suddenly a man in a beret ran over, looked around and shouted, "Who's Bella Jones?"
Bella paused and subconsciously looked over, answering, "It's me."
The man nodded and glanced at Sherry again, "You two come with me. Director Chandler requests us to arrange for your audition immediately."
"Really?"
Sherry was all smiles, but she frowned at once, not hiding her disdain for Bella, "Why is she able to audition with me, too?"
The man glanced at her. "If you don't want to audition, you do not need to come."
"Of course I want." Sherry glared at Bella and smiled at the man tenderly, "It's an honor to audition for a role in Director Chandler's film!"
Bella appeared innocent and went inside together with them after consideration.
She had already come, so she decided to have a try.
Anyway, so many people had been weeded out. It did not matter that she would be among them.
Following the staff, the two came into a large room.
The two doors of the room were opened wide, and the rest people waiting for the audition as well could not help gathering around the doors.
In the middle chair sat a bearded middle-aged man in a thick coat. He was exactly the famous director Andy Chandler who looked sleepy now.
"Which one of you comes first?"
He didn't even look at Bella and Sherry, impatience shown on his face.
"Me!" Before Bella could answer, Sherry, who was anxious to show off, took the lead.
"Action!"
As soon as Director Chandler said, Sherry immediately took a step forward and looked pathetic. However, she was stopped by the director cruelly before she was about to read the lines.
"Next!" said the director.
Sherry froze and looked at him with a grievance, "Director Chandler, is not my acting good?"
"Your acting is especially," Andy answered without even lifting an eyelid, "terrible."
"......."
The corners of Bella's mouth twitched. At the same time, she began to worry deeply about her situation.
Blood rushed to Sherry's face. She received such a bad review before she could read the lines.
Being humiliated in front of the whole audience, she squirmed with embarrassment.
The mocking gaze around her made her ashamed and resentful. She could not help glaring at Bella and walked to a side in anger, not saying a word.
She wanted to see what Bella could do to impress the director.
