Chapter 3 Starting Today, She's Mrs. Moore

Jason was left speechless.

It was mere appendicitis. From where did the old man learn such a pathos trick?

"If that's the reason, you can go back now." Jason spoke in a clear voice, "I'm not sick and could probably live 99 years at least."

Alison didn't know what to say.

This man was so stubborn.

Given his weary and sick look, six months later was quite likely to be his last.

Alison spoke resolutely, "Anyway, I'm willing to marry you and stay with you until..."

She stopped there, but Jason took the hint.

Till death did them apart.

Interesting.

"Why?" Jason curled up his lips and slightly arched his dashing eyebrow, "To repay me through marriage?"

Alison stiffened a little. The smile of the man was so stunning. His thin lips slightly curved up, and there seemed to be ripples in his deep eyes.

In terms of appearance alone, she would like to have his photo on her marriage certificate.

Alison nodded decisively and resolutely, "Yes, I've brought my luggage and residence booklet, so we can get a marriage certificate at any time."

Amused by that, Jason fixed his eyes on the delicate face of the woman.

It was just a lie from his grandpa, but she firmly believed him and even acted so resolutely.

Was she dumb or playing dumb?

Or, she tried to marry into Moore Family at this excuse?

Either way, her reason and excuse were the most 'decent'.

They could get a marriage certificate at any time, right?

Jason suddenly remembered the conversation with Zedd.

"How can I get rid of the surprises and dinner parties for good?"

"Get married, of course."

Jason rubbed his fingers lightly. Compared with those his mother selected, this one was obviously more obedient.

"Okay, let's get the marriage certificate tomorrow morning."

If a marriage certificate could relieve his mother and grandfather, it was not a bad idea actually.

After they spent some time together, he believed the woman would show her true color!

By then, she would have her time crying.

At that, Alison lowered her head and spoke softly, "Okay."

What else could she do? She had been morally abducted and couldn't give up halfway. The depressed and painful look of the old man was something she didn't have the heart to see.

Near his end, the old man cried so bitterly in front of her. Really, she could not refuse.

Luckily, it was a matter of just six months.

As soon as the idea crossed her mind, she cursed herself, 'Alison, Alison, hold that thought, isn't it a venomous curse?'

What if he was cured and recovered?

"Well, we can sign a marriage agreement for six months. When we divorce, I will leave without claiming anything..." Alison offered.

Jason narrowed his eyes, "You mean if I survive over six months..."

"Then congratulations." Alison broke in, "That means you've recovered and certainly could choose your soul mate at your will."

Jason found the woman's approach even more confusing.

Was this a new trick of gaining sympathy through virtue or retreat for the sake of advancing?

He rubbed his third eye area when drowsiness kicked in. With a yawn, he got up, "Okay, deal."

Following his words, he walked straight away and instructed Adela who was waiting in a distance, "Fine her a guest room. Tomorrow, she will be my wife."

Hearing his teasing tone, Alison silently sighed to herself.

This man didn't look easy-going.

The following six months might be tough...

Since the man only had six months to live, and the old man told her that he had never dated anyone, Alison scoured the internet for 100 must-dos for a couple, printed them out, and bound them in a volume.

She intended to bring those wonderful experiences to him before he was no more.

The booklet was now in her bag, and the title was quite elegant: Romance Handbook.

But Alison was a little scared of the man's attitude.

Nevertheless, her first mission of becoming Mrs. Moore was accomplished.
