Chapter 4: Familiar Breath

Xenia Jones turned around and turned her back to James Sterling.

Last night at Jessica Green's birthday banquet, they didn't even meet face to face, how could he recognize her?

James Sterling saw that she looked like she had seen a ghost, said with a sarcastic tone.

"What guilty things did you do to be scared like this?"

He tilted his head to look to the corridor.

Nobody knew what was he looking at, but his icy cold eyes at that moment showed tenderness as if the warm sunshine, which was incompatible with the icy atmosphere that surrounded him.

He nodded in that direction as if he was saying goodbye.

When he turned to look at Xenia Jones, the rare tenderness in his eyes was instantly annihilated in the frost.

"Why are you here?" He asked coldly, with invisible coercion under his eyes.

Xenia Jones didn't speak.

She went out but was stopped by James Sterling.

"Want to escape?"

He leaned beside the elevator door, not coming in, nor letting the door close, stroking the silver ring on his middle finger with a slight smile on the corner of his lips.

He was a bit discursive and leisure, but more arrogantly cold.

"Did you follow me?" He asked.

"I don't know you, nor did I follow you." Xenia Jones said.

"Aren't you the Green's maid?" James Sterling stared at her coldly.

He saw her at the front gate of the hospital before, and he felt her familiar. Now he remembered seeing her at Jessica Green's birthday feast.

But she had been in the kitchen at that time and didn't take a step out.

He only glanced inadvertently and saw her profile.

"No!" Xenia Jones denied.

James Sterling twisted his brows lightly.

Was he wrong?

He looked her up and down carefully again.

She wore a white shirt, light-colored jeans and a pair of white sneakers. There was a black backpack on one of her shoulders, a white coat on her hand, and a light-colored scarf.

It was a very ordinary dress.

But it gave a refreshing breeze.

His gaze returned to Xenia Jones's face.

She lowered her head and her long black hair covered her delicate white face, showing only a small nose, tight pink lips, and part of the white chin.

She looked down like a pretty obedient girl.

But the momentum showed from her whole body was cold and she would not easily yield.

However, she looked pretty good after the second glance.

James Sterling's thin lips closed with a hint of evil.

"I have always remembered beautiful women."

Shameless!

Xenia Jones ignored him and continued to go out.

Just when she stepped out of the elevator, she saw a shadow in the direction of the corridor.

She hadn't had time to see who it is, her shoulders were suddenly tightened and she was taken back to the elevator by James Sterling, imprisoned powerfully in the corner of the elevator.

He seemed afraid that she would see the one outside the door.

She didn't know what secrets had been hidden here he would be so worried about meeting the Green Family in the hospital.

The elevator door closed and went down.

"Who sent you to follow me? Say!" His eyes began to be ferocious.

"Jessica Green?"

"Sir, you are thinking too much!"

"You are a maid of Green's Family but you denied it. It's suspicious!"

"Did anyone set the rule that people have to admit anything you ask? Who do you think you are!" Her impatient detesting tone made James Sterling slightly surprised.

This was the first time in his life that he met a woman who dared to refute him so plainly.

The people around him, even strangers who didn't know him, would be scared when they heard his name. They would speak carefully, for fear of offending him.

"It seems that you really don't know who I am!" His deep eyes emerged a bit agitation.

"No idea at all!"

Xenia Jones spoke word by word, her eyes were cold and could not hide the hatred.

It was this man who took her virgin.

She hated him.

James Sterling even suddenly laughed when seeing her look.

He was cold and evil, with a bit of inborn arrogance.

"You don't seem to like me very much."

Xenia Jones told him with her eyes: you were right!

James Sterling's slender fingers pinched her small chin, forced her to look up and looked at her face from side to side.

"Did I abandon you once?"

No impression at all, he thought.

"We haven't seen each other before, how could you abandon me? Let me go!" She struggled, but he tightened even more.

His fingers were cold, without the slightest temperature.

It was like a cold current, along her chin and down to the human heart.

At this time, the elevator reached the ground floor and the door opened.

Xenia Jones pushed him away and ran out.

James Sterling stretched out his arms and pulled her back.

She fell into his hard, cold arms.

The unique fragrance on her body spread.

It was faint with a seemingly sweet fragrance, and also with a scent of jasmine.

This breath...

James Sterling's heart sank, and the dark bottom of his eyes revealed the coldness that could penetrate into bones.

He seemed to have noticed something.

He turned her around and arrogantly pushed her to the elevator. His sharp, cold eyes stared at her firmly as if to see her inside and out.

Outside the elevator, several family members of patients carrying large bags were about to enter into it. James Sterling raised his hand to close the elevator door and pressed the top floor button.

Outside the door, family members of those patients grumbled.

This man!

Xenia Jones was so angry.

"What the hell do you want to do? Hurry up and let me go!"

James Sterling didn't speak, and there was a touch of coldness on the corners of his lips. One of his hands wrapped around Xenia Jones's slim waist, while the other...

"Ah! Stop!"

His hand went down from the neckline of her shirt...
