Chapter 6 Concealment

Knowing that she was pregnant with twins, Sophie Lopez had thousands of thoughts in her head. When she first signed the contract, she didn't think too much. She didn't think much even when she just got pregnant. During the period after her mother's discharge, she was busy thinking about how to conceal from her mother every day. Thankfully, there were no serious reactions. But when she looked at the beating heart on the B-ultrasound, she suddenly felt something different.

She put her hand lightly on the lower abdomen with a big mess in her mind. Every time she thought about the fact that these two little lives would be taken away from her in another two hundred days, she felt being strangled, out of breath.

"Miss, are you okay?" The taxi driver noticed that Sophie Lopez's face was turning pale.

Sophie Lopez froze, and then she smiled weakly and explained, "Nothing, maybe I'm having a little motion sickness."

She returned home. Looking at her mother, she hesitated again. Although the mother did not have rejections after the operation, had taken medicine ever since, she still needed to pay more attention to her mom in the first a few years. She did not want to leave her mother.

After a fierce ideological struggle, Sophie Lopez finally made a decision. She was only eighteen years old. It would devastate her mom if she found out her little girl was pregnant and it was bad for her recovery. Moreover, it was very likely that her mother would not let her keep her children. She decided to leave temporarily before her belly bulged.

Fortunately, it was already fall. Thick outfits could cover a lot in the coming winter.

Two months later

Starsea City

"Mr. Edwin, I'm sorry to bother you at this time." Sophie Lopez smiled at William Edwin who was sitting opposite to her.

"This is my job. What's the matter?"

William Edwin was not surprised by Sophie Lopez's request for a meeting. He knew that it was all about her mother or her child.

"Mr. Edwin, I hope that you can help me find a professional nurse to take care of my mother. You know that I have been pregnant for four months and I don't want my mother to find out so I have to leave.

Sophie Lopez looked at William Edwin. She thought before she called. Since he was a lawyer commissioned by "the financier", he should not refuse.

"Yes, Ms. Lopez, rest assured, I will make arrangements as soon as possible, I don't know what requirements Ms. Lopez has for your accommodation?" William Edwin tried to keep his tone as formal as possible.

Sophie smiled slightly: "Thank you, Mr. Edwin, for your kindness. I don't think it's necessary. The air in the city is not very good, and the pollution is too serious. In fact, I want to live in the countryside for my delivery."

William Edwin frowned and looked at Sophie Lopez. The girl in front of him seemed greatly changed. At the first sight, she was weak, but decisive when she signed the contract. Before, she was a portrait of a lady. You could clearly see what was drawn in the picture. And now she was more like a Chinese landscape painting with more different textures. She was not easy to be seen through any more.

"Ms. Lopez, I don't think he would agree. Although the rural environment is quiet, the living conditions are not very good, especially in terms of medical care. Ms. Lopez is now pregnant after all."

William Edwin was hesitant. The intuition of a lawyer told him that this little woman must have her purpose.
