Chapter 4 Not Pregnant
In the morning, the sun shone into the room through a ground glass window. Sophie Lopez opened her eyes. Her body seemed to be crushed and she felt sore all over.
Facing the pure whiteness of the room, her thoughts were short-circuited for a moment, but soon, the sound of the rushing water pulled her back to reality.
"You are up. You can take some more sleep. Don't worry about your mother. Lawyer Mr. Edwin will arrange everything." The man still wore a mask, but his voice was a bit warmer.
"Thank you. I'm going to the hospital to accompany my mother. I will come back by myself in the evening." Sophie Lopez declined him. In fact, she wanted to ask when he could donate bone marrow.
"If you have any needs, just contact Lawyer Mr. Edwin. In the evening, he will pick you up." The man said with a formulated tone.
Seeing the man was about to head out, Sophie Lopez couldn't hold back, "Well, when can my mother have her surgery?"
"Not until you got pregnant. You don't have to worry too much, she is doing great so far, and she needs chemotherapy before the surgery ..."
"I see." Sophie Lopez bowed her head. Although the details were written on the contract, she still hoped this day to come earlier.
Instead of expecting the man to show mercy, it seemed better to put her expectations on pregnancy. It would take at least a month.
The man left, Sophie Lopez was sitting in a daze on the bed. Her hand was on her lower abdomen. These days were her period of ovulation. Last night the man worked very hard. She hoped that a small life could come here as soon as possible.
That morning, when Sophie Lopez went downstairs, she saw a middle-aged woman in the villa, who cooked a big breakfast. What surprised Sophie Lopez was that Lawyer Mr. Edwin was already there, and then he drove her to the hospital.
Days passed in anticipation and entanglement, till Sophie Lopez had her period. Sophie Lopez was a bit disappointed at herself and she felt lost.
Her mother's chemotherapy was over. Now her situation was very suitable for a surgery, but she couldn't push "the financier".
Another half month had passed in the torment. For the past days, "the financier" came to the villa on time every night. Sophie Lopez tried to ask him to donate bone marrow first. She repeatedly promised to have a child with him, but "the financier" did not say anything.
That morning, watching "the financier" was about to leave again, Sophie Lopez summoned up her courage and stopped him.
"Wait a minute, mister. My mother is doing well, and the doctor suggested the surgery better be performed soon."
The man stopped but didn't look back ... Sophie Lopez's heart sank a little.
The time passing by seemed as long as a century. Sophie Lopez finally heard the 'most beautiful' voice in this life.
"It's your ovulation period. If you still can't get pregnant this month, I will arrange your mother's surgery."
"Thank you, I will obey the agreement." As soon as the words came out, Sophie Lopez bowed her head in embarrassment.
"You don't have to worry. Too much tension could affect conception."
Sophie Lopez almost fell onto the bed. She felt uncomfortable when she heard this. Almost a month, except for the few days of the menstrual period, every night, they were on the same bed, doing the most intimate exercise in the world. But they didn't talk much. Everything they talked was about her pregnancy. It kept reminding Sophie Lopez that she was just a commodity.
"I got it. I will manage my emotions well." Sophie Lopez gritted her teeth and got out of bed with humiliation.
