SEARCHING FOR THE HUMAN
ATLAN
He was pissed at his beta for what he just did.
“I'm so sorry, your Highness, but I can assure you that she won't be able to go far since she has knows nothing about Urindal."
If that could be enough to make Atlan calm, it would have been good, but Atlan was far from being okay. He stared at the injury on his beta's hands.
“You think a woman who bit you enough to run away wouldn't find her way out of the kingdom!”
He could see his beta go speechless.
He knew from the first time he saw her that she wasn't going to be someone easy to boss around.
Now she had shown him what she was full capable of. He walked over to the bed, where the chains to which she was bind with laid. He was expecting to find the chains broken, but to his utter amazement and confusion, the chains were still intact. The lock which kept the chains together was still very much there.
Just what kind of human is she, that she could get away from the chains used on her. This human wasn't someone he should underestimate at all.
He brought his gaze back to his beta, who had been pacing around the room, waiting for their men to bring them news about the human girl.
Alan's eyes fell on the bite mark on his beta again, and something caught his attention.
“Why isn't your injury healing?”
He stared at the injury and was as confused as he was. This was strange. Werewolves heals fast. He's not just a werewolf, but a Lycan as well. How strange was that his injury wasn't healing at all.
Something was definitely wrong somewhere.
“Do you think the bite of a human was poisonous to a werewolf?” He asked looking worried. Atlan walked closer to his beta so he could observe the injury for himself.
Seeing the injury up close, Atlan became so speechless. The injury was still very fresh, and from what he knew about the humans even before he became a beast, was that the humans have no powers over the werewolves, that's why they are known to be weaker kinds.
It was actually very strange that a human bite could be this dangerous to a werewolf. Atlan thought of the only way he could heal his beta because keeping the injury open when it's not healing might get the injury infected, which was more dangerous.
He brought out his tongue and was about to lick the injury when his beta drew his hands away.
“Your Highness, you can't do that.”
Atlan raised his head towards his beta and watched him confusedly.
“Why?” Atlan asked through mind link.
“What if I'm infected? Using this method might put you in danger also.”
Atlan would have rolled this eyes at this particular point in time. He knows his beta was only trying to look out for him, but he surely cannot let anything happen to his beta.
Atlan cares for all those who decided to stay beside him, oath or not. Most of his men had broken the oath and left Urindal since the ancient times.
Now he's left with just his beta and a hundred soldiers who still made him believe they will forever pay their allegiance to him. Their mates also promised to stay and build back his kingdom.
Now that he had finally become hopeful, he wouldn't let anyone take away his hope. He commanded his beta to give him his hands, and he licked the injury, fortunately, within few minutes, the injury started closing up.
This made Atlan and his beta stare at each other at once. This only means, the human wasn't someone ordinary at all.
No way, now he's extremely worried for his men who were sent after her. She's very dangerous.
Atlan ran into the woods as fast as he could, with only one thing in his mind, and that was to save his men from her.
He searched for her tirelessly, but couldn't find her.
He located his men, who were still in the woods searching for her. From his calculation, it's going to get dark soon, which means she has been inside the woods for a day now.
Atlan sent his men back to his castle because nightfall was fast approaching, and that means, he would soon become a beast.
He can't afford to put his men in danger, and he had stopped his beta from bringing him his mother's pendant. He wanted to learn to do away with her pendant.
But that didn't stop his feral behaviour at nightfall. The good thing now was that no one was found in the woods, unlike before where some persons still came to the woods and ends up being killed by him.
And it so happens that when he hunted them instead of the wild beasts in the forest, he would never be happy all through the day. In those times, he would wish to die rather than being alive.
Atlan still tried searching for the human girl, but he could but find her, neither did he perceive her scent anywhere. He came to a conclusion that she must have found her way out of the woods, which was pretty much better because he couldn't have afford turning into a beast and devour her.
Maybe he should just forget about her. It was impossible that she was the human child he saw some years ago. Though she has same eyes as the child back then.
It didn't take that long before nightfall came. And as usual, Atlan became his beast. His eyes changed its colour, his claws became longer and sharper.
He could from a far distance, smell anything from a kilometer away, and also see clearly.
He began his hunt for animals, as he growled uncontrollably. Fortunately, any wild animal around falls dead at the sound of the growl, which made it possible for him to get himself filled up for the night.
Just as he was growling, he found a panda writhing in pain on the ground. This was a good catch for the night because the panda looked so huge and big. Having only the panda for the night will be good enough for him.
Atlan slowly approached the panda on the floor, and directly aimed for its throat. Without wasting time, he sunk his teeth deep into the pandas neck, giving him an instant death, so he could enjoy his meal in peace.
Just as he was about biting into the panda's flesh, he heard a gasp, very close to him. Atlan froze instantly.
At that very moment, the scent hit him hard, it was the human.
